Yes. Nobody has ever seen Mt. Fuji. Why would Taiwaned expect things to be different for him? He must be stark raving bonkers.

Eternal optimist?????

I have seen many professional pictures of Mt. Fuji.

It's one of those things that I have always wanted to see with my own eyes.

I hope to try again later on this month with a day trip with a tour group out of Tokyo.

What are the chances I will actually see it this time? Planning to do this 3rd week in November.
One of my buddy went last year in the winter, she took the cable car and then went on the boat in Lake Ashi - and saw nothing... didnt even know which direction Fuji was.. haha

I have seen Fuji from the train a couple of times, once on the plane when I was flying from Haneda to Komatsu (Kanazawa) and I have climbed it

If the sky is clear, you can get a good view from the TMG building in Shinjuku - not far from the station and it is free to go up.

As written several years before, the perfect venue for viewing Fuji-san is...the Park Hyatt Tokyo and its glorious bars. And if her majesty decides to hide behind clouds, what better reason for another scotch on the rocks.

So I purchase a package tour from JTB to see the glorious Mt. Fuji.

The day of the tour, it rained so hard and this time the main gate was closed so I didn't even get past to the first level. Went on the Hakone lake cruise and it was so wet, no point. Went up the cable car to be able to see only 4 feet ahead of me.

Irony is today is a beautiful and cold day. A perfect day to see Mt. Fuji.

Mt. Fuji is not meant for my eyes.

That is a bummer, at least now you can buy "cheap" liquor to drown your sorrows!
