But Nishiyama is no longer the nuclear spokesman for the government, and not because of his daughter's employment...

That's odd. Didn't notice. It is listed as a 2 in Shibuya-ku. I woke up in the middle of the night a few days ago due to a M5.X up north that was only a 1.

We went on Saturday, were looking for the cheapie 桃 lady, but no sight of her. Ended up buying a couple from another vendor, which were good, but not extra double great.

That is too bad. Supposedly picked early Sunday morning, it was way too hot out there on the Uni square to really enjoy though! Also bought some over-priced corn that tasted like candy...do they inject syrup in the cobs?

Actually noticed this one - was on the 10th floor in my hotel room in Ikebukuro and I felt like I was on a boat - but it was so gentle. Saw one of the fishing boats speed hurriedly back to the harbour on tv as the tsunami warning flashed on the screen

Tokyo is completely safe for travel - but it's painfully noticeable that tourism has gone down. I will be happy to be back and contribute more of my tourist dollars in (not only because Lady Gaga said to go...)

I don't know about from anywhere else, but the insanely high airfares from the US is surely keeping me from going back to Japan. Airfares to Narita on American Airlines price out at 2X-3X what they were prior to Mar 11. (BTW, I happened to experience the Mar 11 earthquake in Tokyo and stayed another week, until Fukushima went from bad to worse.)

Strange. Seems like a lot of people with no particular interest in Japan have been coming to this forum to ask about HND transport options recently. I can only assume that there are some "deals" or "steals" on tickets to attract them.

Nothing strange about it. I said "NRT" not "HND".

I guess you miss the insanely cheap price AA had a couple of weeks ago. I'm flying YYZ to HND via JFK for $766 on Dec 12...

A biggish earthquake (M5.5) a few minutes ago in Kanto. No threat of tsunami.

I will state unequivocally that the ground shook here in Shibuya ! As a friend in Utsunomiya said....."that was only 20 seconds"!
