A real low cost carrier in Tokyo! Sure hope this is just the foot in the door and more will show up. Like to see Cebu Pacific next, for example, as fares to MNL are crazy expensive.
Of course, three times a week is hardly much of an invasion.

Looks like the press conference has been held and I got email from Air Asia.
Initial promotion fares
from HND to KUL: 5,000 JPY ++ /OW
from KUL to HND : 34 USD ++/ OW
Book from 23 Sep - 31 Oct 2010
Travel from 9 Dec 2010 - 31 Jul 2011
Year-round fare from HND 10,000 to 25,000 JPY ++ /OW
About the "++", Air Asia doesn't charge fuel, IIRC.
Not bad. Much cheaper than Okinawa fares of NH and JL.
Schedule: -T-T--S
HND 23:45 - KUL 06:30(+1)
KUL 14:40 - HND 22:30

I know Cebu Pacific goes into KIX, but by the time you throw in the shinkansen fare to Osaka and back, it isn't cheap from Tokyo. These KUL fares sound great. Too bad they are stuck with the midnight departure time; that sounds similar to the horrible schedule ANA chose for HND-HKG to try to keep most people from selecting the flight.
