Tokyo to Shanghai in Business Class - which flight ?

I can't make up my mind between these two:

from NRT
Boeing 787 jet JAL SHELL FLAT NEO 1
19:25 21:45

from HND Boeing 767 jet SKY SUITEI II
11:35 13:45

Any particular reason for choosing one before the other?
We'll be 2 persons travelling together.

Will the food service be identical?

Is there any mayor difference between the NRT and HND First lounges?
I'm OW Emerald and have been to the NRT one and I've read some
not so recent reviews of the HND one.

We'll be using BA Avios so the cost will be the same.

Getting to the airports is not an issue in this case.

well there's also from NRT
Boeing 737 jet JAL SKYLUXE SEAT
14:45 17:05
I can't see a case for this one however, and the morning flight is not
an option.

SS6 is kind of narrow so my choice would be NEO on 787. You don't need a fully flat seat for short flight like this. Although the IFE on SS6 is better. More intuitive touchscreen UI and it is equipped with SKY Wi-Fi.

More narrow than the seat Swiss uses?
I thought they were similar? British Airways A321 ex BMI planes has those as well.

btw. how long before can you check-in, leave the bag at HND ?

HND for the convenience and better (midday) timing into Shanghai..... its only a 3 hour flight!

Arriving at SHA also scores a big win in the convenience column. As such, I would go with JL 81.

There's no award space on that flight the date I was looking
so it'd have to be the JL85, which arrives at PVG, or JL879 from NRT

EDIT: it's actually ba.com that doesn't recognize that airport, regardles it's too early.

About same as Swiss.

Same day check in. Which means the early morning, not late night. I.e. no check in at 00:05 for a 16:00 flight.

Are you saying I am fat?

You have to sleep on the side. It's mainly the bed width I had problem with. With the short SHA flights, think you (and OP) won't have much time to sleep anyway.

Hi, I'm flying LHR-PVG on BA F and then after an 8hr layover flying PVG-HND JL business (thus T1)

Will I be able to use any shower facility after landing in PVG? I will want to leave the airport after this to go downtown for a few hours.

I have Oneworld Sapphire and Priority Pass.

Thank you.
