HND-JFK from April 1 instead of HND-HNL

I'm *A flyer but I found it in Japanese news and it's nice to have a competition with HND-JFK route!^
----------------------------------------
On international routes, JAL will launch new non-stop daily service between Tokyo-Haneda (HND) and New York (JFK) from April 1, 2017, using a Haneda daytime international slot. The new service is being offered to enhance customer convenience and to provide greater access to and from Japan-domestic connecting flights at Haneda Airport.

On JAL’s daily flight departing in the evening from Tokyo-Narita (NRT) to New York (JFK), the airline will increase capacity by adjusting the aircraft type from a Boeing 787-8 (SS8) to a Boeing 777-300ER (SS7), which offers a four-class configuration including First Class (*1).

Interesting news. I currently have an AA award on JL005 JFK-NRT in October 2017. AA can't pull up the reservation, but the JL site already shows HND as the new destination.

What are ur plans in tokyo? I wouldnt mind going to hnd tbh as its a more premium route w potentially less award avail. If you have international connections, that would be different nonetheless.

Haneda is waaaay better. Narita is so far! Why do they call it Tokyo?
I've been waiting for HND-JFK to come true! Domestic connections are also much easier!
Good change! I'm pretty sure HNL flyers won't mind that much as they are flying for leisure.
