Just to kick start a wiki, with answers to frequent questions.
1. We're flying HND-NGO-HNL. NGO-HNL is booked in business class, but HND-NGO is in economy. Will we still get the baggage allowance as if we're flying business class the whole way?
A: Yes. written here (link)
2. We're flying HND-NGO-HNL. Will we have lounge access in HND?
A. Definitely, within the lounge access rules of course. written here (link)

appreciate the help
Believe 5A is reserved for full fare.

JAL website doesn't distinguish between occupied and blocked. It will only show seats you are entitled to select as available on JAL website.

Open-Jaw from Germany?

Is there a way to book an open-jaw ticket and / or stopover through the JAL site?

I am beginning the trip in Germany and I think the only possibility to book from Germany is through the German JAL site - but there is only the option of booking a roundtrip Germany / Japan.

Any possibilities around this on another JAL site?

Booking Economy Class

I'm trying to book flights from HKG to HNL in economy but the website only seems to offer 'Normal Fare' which only displays business class fares, or 'Mix Cabin Saver' which is one leg in economy and one in business. The website is impossible to navigate, how do i just book an economy flight?

Mixed cabin saver is the correct option.

Hmmm, on 3 random dates it only gives the return in economy. Outbound is only in business.

Question about upgrade award.
I have requested an upgrade award for SFO-HND. Now it is on waitlist.
I was told there are 5 persons before me.
How does JL handle the priority? FIFO? Or by JL status? Or by OW status?
Thank you

Hi all,

I am trying to book a domestic ITM-HND leg. May I ask where can I put in my BAEC FFP #? I can only see a field for JAL # but nothing for OW members. TIA

I have not done it in ages as non JMB. But I think I just assigned an FFP number at check-in. There are not really any bennies to be had before that stage anyway. Or you can call JAL to have it entered in the system.

Thanks CPH!

On a completely unrelated note, may I ask is there a BA ex-EU equivalent business fare for JAL from Asia to Europe?

Only JMB members can upgrade. I don't even know if they support having both FFP# in the reservation. Did the agent tell you you are on priority waiting list?

Also, sometimes waiting list position doesn't matter. JMB elite desk can do some magic too

So I called again. Instead of calling US, I called Taiwan JL number. Sounds like an agent from China. She said that it will depends on JMB status. But maybe OW status also. She does not sure. I am on No 6 now. I don't know that is total length of waitlist or just 5 people in front of me. I guess I will call again to a different agent and ask.

Is there a clear rule of upgrade waitlist priority?
