Any word on YVR-NRT getting the NBC seats?

I'm flying YVR-NRT and NRT-PEK in March, and last time I checked months ago, the YVR route wasn't on the list for NBC yet. As far as I remember, they are the oldest Biz seats that JAL has. Is that still the case?

Unfortunately yes. They still use the SkyLuxe seats.

ugh, terrible. My luck I get stuck with the oldest seats on JAL and CX, damn. Makes this trip a little less luxurious.

How bad are these seats? Would you pay $500 more to go CX rather than JL from TPE to YVR in order to avoid these seats?

In a word: YES! The CX new J flat bed (in spite of its narrowness) is light years ahead of JLs ancient J cradle seat with limited recline and a pitch of about 50-52"!!
