Starting in Newark going to India, returning to Seattle

I am going to be flying to India MAA from EWR, and returning to Seattle from BLR. My travel agent has come up with a rather circuitous return route of BLR, BOM, JFK, Dallas and then Seattle. I am travelling with an infant and will be the only adult, needless to say I am a little anxious.
The Bombay leg is something I am dreading, because getting from Domestic to the international airport is a PITA.

Is there some way I can get a better routing ? I would appreciate a few tips. I assume he is doing the open jaw thing. He is using Jetairways... isnt there some partner booking which one can use to do the BLR-SEA over the pacific ?

OH and I cant go through any country that needs a visa because I am in the middle of my GC and dont have a valid visa for the US. For some reason although I am legally in the US, the BA folks insist on me having a visa for their country even for a transit stop. Air france is ok with it and so are a number of other european carriers.

Appreciate any and all help
Thanks
Sasha

I have a similar problem. I am from Canada and we want our nanny to come with us to India. She is from the Phillippines and here on a work visa. She needs a visa just to pass through the USA. Ugh!
