Italy, room for 3, but only 2 traveling.

I searched, but could not find the answer.

Husband and I are traveling to to Rome in a couple of months. Been previously.

Can I book a triple room for only 2 people??

We need our space, ( we cannot stuff the 2 of us in a double bed) and most bedding is one double (with a "possibility" of 2 beds)

But a triple has triple beds, which would guarantee at least 2 beds.

As long as I pay the price for the triple, is it a problem??

Thanks.

Yes you can. Just check because sometimes a room is advertised as a triple because they can bring in a roll away bed or it has a convertible couch, and it's no bigger than a regular room.

Perche is correct - a triple doesn't necessarily mean an additional bed. Also, contact the hotel and ask what they mean by double bed. It can mean anything from a full to a king in Italy, double bed indicating only that it can sleep two. A king bed is unlikely just because they tend not to be prevalent, but it could be a queen size rather than a full (which we commonly call a double in the US).

Thanks for answering.

The two properties list their triples as either one double and one twin, I can see photos of the room, and one lists 3 twins, can also see pics of that room.

As long as their are at least 2 beds of ANY sort, I'm good with that.

Thanks.

Don't rely on terms such as "king" and the like when traveling overseas. These things can have very different meanings.

I would call the property directly and get an exact understanding of the offering and what you need.

Or just go on airbnb and find a place that advertises a queen/king bed and has a large bedroom.
