Go to the last couple pages of each of these threads to find extensive conversation about the Starwood properties in Venice.

The Gritti Palace recently reopened after a year's closure for renovation. Make sure you get current reports on it.

Here's my two year old pre Gritti Palace renovation comparison of all three properties:

Our budget is E700 (OOCH!) for our Venice hotel.
We need a triple & I would like to be near the Grand Canal
and not the lagoon. Still searching ... Thanks

700EU/night? For a week?

You might try venere.com for rooms. Triples can be difficult to find.

€700 per night. that's a good place to start depending on when you plan to go.use venere.com and then their map feature. go to spg.com and call up triples. then use the map feature.

go to spg.com and call up triples. last time i looked they had none in their hotels. as mentioned, venere.com is the best place to look. why you want canal instead of lagoon? by lagoon, the canal stops at salute. some of the best chances for triples are to the east. i know metropole and vivaldi have triples.

i have stayed at danieli and E&R about 10 times. got a view of the water twice.

Are you looking for a GC property or specifically a GC view? If the latter, you won't be able to get a GC view at the Gritti 700EU/night.

You might consider looking a bit further away from Piazza San Marco, at a property such as the Locando ai Santi Apostoli or Ca'Favretto, both of which are on the GC but not luxury properties.

when you say triple, are you looking for beds, or cribs?

slawecki .... They have a Jr. Suite that will accommodate 3
Also, they get great reviews in Trip Advisor Only 8 rooms.
The Jr. Su. also has a view of the canal. Looks good !
