No club.
Otherwise it is a nice hotel, but more in a suburbian area, very close to the buildings on both sides and also close to the airport (noise). Ok for one or two nights, especially since it is lietraly only 5 minutes from the airport.

Just stayed at ic london as a plat ambassador. Paid for standard room got a double upgrade plus to a family size corner room. Asked for club floor denied but was given option of 60 pounds to upgrade and then down to 30. I took two breakfast coupons instead and decided to pass on the upgrade. At the several ic's I've stayed at have gotten a suite or lounge floor 100% accept this t

Just stayed at one of the HIs in Paris and since I was arriving early in morning from a transatlantic flight I requested in my reservation an early check in. I also send a fax to the property 24 hrs before arriving to remind them of my request.

Unfortunately when I arrived around 9:30am, my room was not ready! This is understandable since many had not checked out yet, but it was doubly confused since they had pre-determined to put me into one of their so called Executive Rooms. Frankly at that hour, I did not care and asked for any room at all as all I wanted to do was to shower and sleep.

But no room was available and I had to wait till 12:45pm for a room. As a Royal Amb Plat member I was NOT impressed with this service. The front desk staff were more pre occupied with giving me an Exec Room than anything and I would settle for anything since I know what the upgraded rooms are like at this property (no big deal).

So far this year, I have had some 9 stays at various properites and I am not impressed with the RA offerings other than at IC which is of course what is advertised.

In my opinion this chain needs to start working much closer together as I may be walking back to SPG.

Stayed at the IC David Tel Aviv two weeks ago. Booked Club level room and received upgrade to suite, though not on a Club floor. No need to request upgrade, it was prebooked. And was able to get my room at 9:30am. Good view, no complaints about the room. Had Club access and all benefits. Given fruit and water set up, as well as a bottle of Golan Heights cabernet wine. Minibar was well stocked, though not with any champaigne [which I don't drink anyways]. Free internet in Club lounge, though speed was rather slow.

Had my first stay as an RA last weekend at IC the Grand Mumbai.

- Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked the cheapest Deluxe room at $115. Used a weekend night cert for the second night. Regular Ambassadors get an upgrade from Deluxe to a Club room. As an RA, when I checked in, I had been pre-assigned a suite on the top (7th) floor. The guest relations officer walked me to my suite where the checkin formalities were completed.

- How are the rooms?
Awesome! The Club rooms are 46 sq m. The suites are "proper" suites with separate rooms and a door in between. At least 70 sq m, with a huge bathroom and a second smaller bathroom attached to the living room. 29" flat screen TV in each room (no pay movies at this IC). 2 minibars - each with 2 Heineken and 2 Fosters bottles, the 60ml bottles of Smirnhoff, Bacardi, Gordon's and Teachers scotch, Toblerone and Cadbury's, Pringles, assorted nuts and a range of soft drinks. Welcome amenity was an assortment of snacks, fresh fruit and a bottle of local red wine.

- How is the exec. lounge?
Adequate. Didn't see any champagne, but it has a variety of alcoholic drinks and local wines. Hot snacks included vegetarian kebabs and lamb chops. Breakfast was offered at the lounge or the all-day restaurant, which had a full buffet (American as well as Indian breakfasts).

- What was good and what was bad?
All good...only complaint was that the complimentary broadband was spotty. The Rejuve Spa is quite good and the gym is very well equipped. Staff is very friendly too, though the Weekend Night Cert with my second night's booking did throw them for a loop for a while as to how to handle it.

- Value for $ or Priority Club Points? Would you return?
Excellent value. Will definitely return.

I have a couple more stays coming up this week at the IC SIN and BKK and will post results soon.

Great stuff Savage25. I'm looking forward to trying this hotel soon now. They actually sent me a brochure with pics etc when they opened.

Did you have a room that had a bathroom telly as well? And was the suite facing Marine Drive or was it the partial side view or no view.

You're thinking of the IC Marine Drive BOM...I haven't stayed there - yet
This was at IC the Grand BOM, out next to the airport.

You are absolutely right.

Just got back from the IC SIN...the RA experience is turning out to be wonderful!

- Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Cheapest room showing was a Club room for S$220. As an Ambassador, this usually means an upgrade to a Junior Suite (a.k.a. Studio Suite) - a larger L-shaped room with Club access. As an RA, a upgrade to a full (by my definition, with a door between the bedroom and living room) Shophouse Suite had been pre-assigned. I asked about the minibar and was told that drinks are complimentary but snacks would be charged.

- How are the rooms?
The Shophouse Suites really take you back in time. The furnishings are a mix of colonial and Asian styles. Mine was on the 3rd floor, accessed through an open-air corridor. You push open these two wooden half-doors (ok, I can't explain that well, look at the pictures) to enter a little open-air shaded area in front of the room with a couple of wooden easy-chairs - a great place for chilling out with wine and a smoke. Inside the room, you enter a little foyer where there is a luggage rack, closet and a huge bathroom on the left. Then you walk into the living room and see the contrasting furnishings. The wooden shutters open into a balcony that looks out into the Bugis Junction shopping centre/walking street. The bedroom has the same ultra-comfortable bed that I want to buy and take home when I do get my own apartment again.

- How is the exec. lounge?
They know me too well there...I just have to walk in and they take out a fresh bottle of Piper Hiedsieck The evening snacks are very good - last night was an assortment of cheeses, hot fish cakes, hot chicken and mushroom pies, crab cakes, a salmon thingy and mango pudding. Breakfast is also quite good - they will prepare eggs or an omlette any way you want. Its still on the 11th floor - they seem to be reconsidering moving it down to the 2nd floor which currently houses their offices.

- What was good and what was bad?
Bad? What bad?

- Value for $ or Priority Club Points? Would you return?
Oh yeah!

Oh yeah that is quite a nice suite that they gave you. In my experience as an RA at the IC SIN, the type of suite they upgrade you to depends on what type of room you have booked (and how well they know you ) which kind of makes sense. When booking the cheap S$155 rate advance pmt rate for a deluxe room I usually get the L-shaped Jr. Suite. However, when booking a better room category (at a higher rate - of course) I get bumped up to shophouse suites etc. Anyway, great hotel with very good service and staff.

Cheers ...

Still sitting in my room at the IC Cologne, so here is a short report. Booked online through IC web site a standard room at the luxury wknds rate (€140 in this case - cheapest on offer) which gives you bkfst and 4pm check-out (you get the latter one anyway as Amb/RA, but hey ...). My online booking confirmation changed after a few days from standard room to Sr. Suite (yeah that's right Senior not Junior, but don't worry that doesn't mean you are provided with a wheel chair in addition to your room).

Hotel is very nice and quite new. When I checked in I got exactly the Sr. Suite as mentioned on my confirmation. Very nice and spacious with 1,5 bathrooms, a seperate living room area, big bedroom (no door to living room though) and a bathroom with two sinks, walk-in shower and bath tub. Amenities are from Hermes. Quite nice if you like a bit of a modern decor though the room appears a bit dark even when all lights are turned on. The gym is awesome as it is a real one called Holmes Place and not just operated by the hotel. Open to the public ($$$) and hotel guests. Lots of machines, sauna and a nice pool. Bkfst buffet at Favio's was quite nice with fresh juices and fruits, omlette station, cerals, etc. All one could possibly want. Cheers ...

PS: Still no High-Speed internet and Pay-TV but instead calls to ISP's are free of charge.
