Not only that but if you count the rocks on the bottom right corner, they are the same in number and size as on Shutterstock photo. And looking carefully at the photo on the contest page I can see little dashes where some of the photo has been cropped out.

I think you are spot on in your assumption that it is Turnagain Arm Trail in Chugach State Park Alaska.

Swentna River - A 100 mile (160 km) river, which starts in the mountains on the west side of the Susitna Valley and flows easterly until it joins the Yentna River. There is a settlement and airstrip at Skwentna, which is where the two rivers join.


Chena River - This Alaska river flows right through the heart of Fairbanks and there are paddle-wheeler river boats that give guided tours on it (see Alaska Attractions). This river also starts in the White Mountains but flows west for about 100 miles (160km) before it connects with the Tanana River. Recreational fishing only is allowed. Couple thoughts....

#1. If big snowy mountains popped up on the first day, it would be a dead give away. I would expect to see them in the next few days IF this is the location.

#2. The trees in the background are a little odd. Some deciduous trees and if you look closely, they use the same conifer tree stand several times even fliped. Looks like 5 times, so be on the lookout for a small picture and not the whole background.

If you look at that picture and PC's picture look all the way to the background where the river starts. To the left of the river you see a black arrow type feature with the trees and right there the green patch of grass matches the patch of grass in the background. Thanks BA_Blade

I am thinking it is the Katmai National Park because of the Valley of Ten Thousand Smokes which appears in the back of PC's picture, but I can't find an exact match picture on it...

That was the clue at the time, but if you check the results page with winning numbers, the clue now says 'I am made of lava quartz etc...'

So I think the answer to the clue has to be in the answer based on the other clues so far.

I see what you are saying. I thought it was a bunch of dead pines and not cliffs/mountains in the background. Kind of like this picture.
