Didn't get one, but if there was a 1% club for most points with fewest stays because of FT, I think I'd be up there.

One of the RA requirements is to stay in 3 different ICs during the year. Find a third one soon! I don't know how flexible they are on this versus number on nights in less properties.

you said during the year, if my ambassador status sarted last may, does it mean that another one or two stays before next may at IC should help me get get RA? I should have to stay about 3 weeks at the Nairobi IC in January, i'll see what happens then, thanks for the info.

I think it has to be before 31 Dec 2009, as the program is based on calendar year.

Please mind:

Letter was adressed to Top 1% PC members spending most nights at one of their brands and has nothing to do with (Royal) Ambassador status.

2009 version

I just got this years letter from Steven Sickel.

You Truly Are the Best.

Dear Stimpy,

I want to simply say "thank you" for staying at Crowne Plaza Hotels and Resorts recently, and let you know how much it means that you continue to choose our Family of Brands when you travel. Your dedication has not gone unnoticed, and we truly appreciate your unwavering loyalty during these challenging times.

As one of our most valued Platinum members, you may not realize that you've already stayed at our hotels 68 nights in 2009. In doing so, you have established yourself as one of our very best customers: You are now in the top 1% of PCR members worldwide.

Etc., etc.,

Also, I should note the photo on the card is from a Platinum member, D. Tanner. Is that one of us I wonder?

It's a nice shot of Cumbria, England, a short drive from the HI Lancaster.

Just received the same card (Cumbria shot). 52 nights YTD.
Would love something more than words, though.

I think this might be US-centric promotion for IHG. They renewed my RA early October (I earned it) for next year and I have my new card, with the usual certificates, etc, but none of the "presidential" thanks.

Got my letter today in the UK (UK postmark on the envelope) thanking me for my 24 nights in 2009, and how that made me one of the top 1%.

Apart from the fact that this number is hopelessly wrong (I now have double that, the number must have been taken in August), is 24 nights really enough to put you in the top 1%?
