i've just heard from management at IC in Shanghai that the The Ruijin will become a new IC, no news there, but that the Chinese ownership of the Puxi IC sued IC and won, no surprise there, Chinese Military guy winning local court case but that was to be re branded a Hilton, Hilton had a requirement he wouldn't agree to so the Puxi is going to become a IC again.

I cannot find any news on this - but this is confirmed?
The hotel is not owned by "one military guy" but by a real estate development company, by the way.

They've even set up their own fake website http://www.puxizjhotel.com/
Hope it back to IHG soon, still my favourite IC in Shanghai, with lots of good memory there.

i don't know, seems eastern Europe is cheaper, and you don't get the 15 points per $ spent either, IC quality in China can be hit and miss, Pudong is pretty average, Puxi was great, Expo also, will be interesting when the two reopen in Puxi

IC Puxi is coming back!
The landlord did hard negotiations with a number of int'l hotel groups, and the hotel nearly become "Hilton Shanghai Center". But all negotiation falling apart at the end.
The law sue case is settled outside the court, and IC Puxi is coming back to IHG - or shall I say continue with their franchise deal.
IHG is recruiting a Residencial Manager and a Chinese Master Chef since 7/8 Dec, http://ihg.jobs.net/search/?keyword=puxi&location=
All looking good, and IC Puxi may back to the booking system very soon.
PS. Master Chef only need 5 years experience? Somehow doesn't boost my confidence, although I quite like their Chinese restaurant in the past.

Is IHG still planning on managing the Ruijin Binguan? If so, this would be the best located IHG property in town, but I'm wondering how they'll be able to make due with the facilities on offer there (it's very hard to make rooms in old buildings bigger, and the current rooms are very small).
