Yes this hotel is very generous to RA's. You should get a huge suite and club.

Checking in here Friday on a 5 night points stay as RA.
I read up thread they usually treat RA's well also on points. Glad to hear that
However, they have modified our booking in an odd way.
Originally I booked a Superior Double with 2 adults and 2 children. Now the booking is modified to 1 adult and 2 children, and the room is now a Double Bed City View. Superior no longer appears to be a room category, looking at their reservations.

I've noticed a similar oddity (change in adults) at our booking for CP LHR...

Strange.

It may have something to do with local regulations dealing with max number of people in a particular room type. I can only talk about paid stays getting the large suite with club. Hopefully you get the same on points.

Sound like we will have a great stay as RA. Does anybody know if they have also suites with 2 beds or Kings with 2 separate beds? I am a big nighttime rollercoaster, so one bed is not fine.

If I remember correctly, the suites I got each time had a sofa-bed in the living room.

Gym/Fitness Center

How is the Gym of the IC Miami? Is it a big one? New Crosstrainer? Machines?

There is a usage-fee of 15 $. As Royal Ambassador it should be free for me.

Is it also free for my wife from the same room or actually only for the RA?

Sorry I can't recall, but it being Miami and all I would expect a decent gym. And the entry should be for free for anyone who cites your last name and room number. IME anyways.

I think is pretty good, big and plenty of cardio and exercise machines maybe not the newest but very decent. Entrance is through Spa, I never was charged for the use of gym...pool deck is nice as well

Special day stay at IC Miami

First time I paid out of pocket for a IC stay in God know how long.

It is my DW's special milestone birthday so I am treating her to a three night stay before our family reunion cruise.

Any dining recommendations for the special day at IC or close by? I am RA so upgrade and Club are expected. Should I notify the hotel to see if there is anything else special?

TIA

As RA on my last stay I got some kind of coupon for the steak restaurant at the IC. I think it was a couple of free drinks or something like that.

You are just a short drive from South Beach where there's lots of choices. There's a really good Cuban restaurant at the Hilton Bentley. De Rodriguez I think it's called now and it's probably the best Cuban on the beach. The nearby MO has pretty good dining too.

I've just noticed when trying to book a room here that there is now a $10 (+ tax) per night "Service Fee" which covers:

Premium internet access
Access to gym/sauna/steam
In room water
Poolside pampering!
Turndown on request
In-room coffee/tea
Luggage storage
Photocopying
Access to Pressreader

Can anyone confirm the upgrade structure for Gold Ambassador?
If I book Bay View the next upgrade is Club with access, and if you book Club, the next upgrade is to suite?
