they are useful when you know what you are looking for and want a quick compare without having to go through all the screens over and over again. with this list, i just can make myself a nice little script.
additionally, rates like for example aaa are not always offered in the dropdown!
one tip: i would use tinyurl.com for every url, just to disguise a bit where this is coming from. we do not want ihg to change the website
[the fact that this page is usable especially when comparing rates between hotels in opposite to stupid other hotel programs is one of my main reasons to stay with them]

Any idea if there is a 1-to-1 relationship between the rate codes and which ones merit PC points (and more importantly, which ones don't). I imagine some/all of the "opaque" priceline and other speculative rates don't. But it would be good to know if there were a deterministic correlation.
