Thank you for the PM! Really nice!

What Type of room? Good question..i Tool the "cheapest" one, Doping 319 USD..cool Upgrade would involve a suite or something similar..but River view would come in handy too..

After reading this thread, I contact Evan about an upcoming 4 night stay we have in October mixing award nights and an ambassador bogo. She was brilliant and we're really looking forward to our stay.

Great staff - hotel is pretty empty this weekend and called the hotel to agree to booking a club 2 bedded room for a confirmed superior suite 2 bedded room .

Not RA anymore, fell to AMB only too

Great staff!!

Where did the Presidential Suite come from?

Every time I've ever checked rates, the best room I've found (and stayed in) was the Penthouse Suite. Now the Presidential Suite is being listed for a mere $6,000 per night. I wonder if it's a new addition, or is just now being publicly sold. Well, challenge accepted. I will figure out a way to get myself into that room

Not sure where you got presidential suite from...I thought their two highest suites were the penthouses @ 2,500 & 3,200 SF.

I received a superior suite + connecting room = 2 bedroom superior suite. Club was great - the staff there are the absolute best that I have seen recently. Awesome upgrade negotiated during a slow period, but there was a persistent urine smell in the "entry" of our suite bedroom during our stay. I brought it up a few times, they said they would " do something for us," but for the rate we paid, I just checked out and still feel completely satisfied.

FYI, suite was room 847. beware! housekeeping gave us a lysol spray thing.

That's what I thought too, hence the post....

I was booking a room yesterday and I saw the Presidential Suite listed. As an RA I've always been upgraded to either the Ambassador Suite or the Penthouse Suite, but I'd be curious to see the Presidential.

AFAIK, it's always been there, though I have not been in it. I once asked about it when there was a problem in the North Penthouse (someone smoking), but Presidential was denied. Here's a picture of the listed (rack?) rates posted in the penthouse. As far as I remember, the Presidential Suite has always been listed.

From looking at the floor plans previously, I think it looked like it's on the 11th floor?

Interesting. I'm just not sure why it wasn't publicly bookable online until now.

Much thanks.

I'll be booking a reward stay here under my wife's account (since she's the one with extra points right now); however, I have ambassador status. Any way to get my ambassador status recognized even though the stay will technically be booked under my wife?

Is it enough to just put my name on the reservation? That alone won't show them my membership number/status.

To their credit the IC Boston has always been one of the better hotels in NA and the chain in general.
In the past they would upgrade me months in advance before arrival ^
I was a former RA
Something I no longer desire to be. To many issues with the program and overseas call center
My suggestion simply give the front desk a call and have them notate the record and your account number
As long as your name is on the reservation I am confident the hotel will make an effort to honor benefits without fail
Its a respectable property.
Cheers

I am planning to use my AMB Weekend certificate here and my question is... if I book the Superior Suite $680/night... Will I get the Ambassador Suite $3000/night (appears to be the next level) as the "Guaranteed Room Upgrade" per Status?

I haven't stayed here yet, but usually the general ihg ambassador t+c mean the IC hotels are not obligated to upgrade to the "Specialist Suites" , Royal Suites, Presidential Suites, and some hotels are even specifically mentioned by name with there excluded suites. On the good side, IC Boston has no specific entry as yet.

You can also have hotels creating non-bookable types so IC's can easily have an intermediate room type between superior/ambassador suites. Just had a look and t+c listing seems to be enlarged since I last looked !

1. An upgrade to an Executive room, Club InterContinental room or a Suite for Royal Ambassadors at check-in is guaranteed.
(My words - This can be literally interpreted as if hotels are so inclined... if already booked suite no upgrade, as already in a suite, unlikely if J/Suite booked, more likely if Full Suite booked )

2. The type of room upgrade allocated is at the discretion of the hotel. Exceptions:
At InterContinental Hotels & Resorts in French Polynesia (InterContinental Le Moana Bora Bora, InterContinental Bora Bora Resort & Thalasso Spa, InterContinental Resort & Spa Moorea, and InterContinental Resort Tahiti) upgrades to the next room category and 4pm late check-out are not guaranteed for Royal Ambassador and Ambassador members who book through a third party Tour Operator.

3. The following Suites are not included in the upgrade policy for Ambassadors & Royal Ambassadors:
InterContinental Hong Kong: Signature Suites (Terrace Suite, CEO Suite, Presidential Suite).
InterContinental Park Lane: Signature Suites.
InterContinental Sydney: Australia Suite, State Suite and Governor Suites.
InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort: Penthouse, Beach Villa, Rock Villa, 2 bed Rock Villa and Royal Residence.
InterContinental San Francisco: Bay Suite, Terrace Suite, Presidential Suite.
InterContinental Athenaeum Athens: Presidential Suite.
InterContinental Adelaide: King Diplomatic Suite and King Presidential Suite.
InterContinental Moscow Tverskaya: Nizhinsky – Diplomatic Suite, Duncan – Diplomatic Suite, Ulanova – Presidential Suite.
InterContinental Amstel Amsterdam: Presidential Suite (includes Executive Presidential Suite, Executive Presidential Twin room & Executive Presidential Junior Suite), Dom Perignon Suite (includes Executive Dom Perignon Suite & Executive Dom Perignon Junior Suite).
InterContinental Berlin: All Club Suites & Presidential Suite.

Great Rewards Night Experience

I stayed at the IC Boston last week on a Rewards Night. I'm used to getting standard rooms when I book with points, so I was pleasantly surprised to hear that we were being put in a Superior Suite.

The hotel was excellent. Our room was incredibly spacious, well-appointed, and quiet. This hotel will definitely be my go-to hotel in Boston going forward.
