Great idea! I am getting a few and sell them on e-bay for big money :-) It could pay for the trip!

For a bit of humor on the topic (disregarding copyright and trademark), I refer you to an old Top Gear Episode:

Had a few fakes from eBay, but I could return them. No in China, you get the items as soon as you finish paying.

Welcome to China.

Set your expectations low and you won't be disappointed.

Welcome to China

Always use the IHG app (be careful of fake websites) and recheck info from other sites when booking hotels. It's the same as never use taxis provided by airport desks or runners. Even at the genuine taxi stand they will scam you if they think they can get away with it. Sadly that's China for you. A bit of homework should have pre warned you but sorry you're learning the hard way

Actually had the "mutton" and green beans that used the mouse meat stuffed in a sheep intestine to make it taste more like mutton. Oh, and the "sewer" oil. Fortunately had some advanced warning about the places to avoid. And, don't get me started on the people.

Actually, it's not a problem with laws and regulations as they have them similar to most western countries. They just don't bother enforcing them. Consider that.

With the rooster making all the noise, at least you know the eggs at breakfast will be fresh.

You'll have an interesting travel story to tell in the future. I'd just go with the flow.
Eggs come from hens.

Tell them you have Spire Ambassador status. If they have to pretend they're an actual Holiday Inn you might get better status recognition than at a real one!

Fake eggs, fake rice, you need your fake I-phone to check the accuracy of the time on your Rollex while staying at the Holidays Inn.

They do indeed have fake eggs in China. I forget what they use specifically, but yes, they do have such a creation there.
