I was in the same mind set as you, I thought it was irrelevant when booked just the stays had to be during the promotion period... ringing up Ambassador services now.

Muahahahahahahhha cough cough ahhahahahaaaa

jk for sure.
Just got off the phone from Ambassador Services.
They pointed out the following

"Must be an IHG® Rewards Club member and must register your member number in advance to participate in this Offer ("Registration")."
"which must be completed between 1 June 2016 and 31 August 2016 (both dates inclusive)"

They must be a qualifying rate, I specificaly asked if I needed to re-book any that I had on the system now as I booked these before I registered.
After 5 minutes they said NO need so long as I have registered for the promotion before any of the stays have completed/posted any stays undertaken/posted during the qualifying period after registration will be credited.

I have asked for them to send an email just to be on the safe side.

Thanks for the info, got another "3 countries outside country of residence" and it will be difficult, so I won't bother trying for the bonus then.

If I were to do two 1-night stays on Saturday, would it satisfy the condition?

Thanks!
If I understand it correctly, no.
A weekend must be a Saturday plus another night - Friday and Saturday, or Saturday and Sunday.

Advice please.
Target 1- 2 stays two different countries.
Target 2- use cash and points.
Question
Will a cash and point booking in another country get me 50% of target 1?

Cash and points don't usually qualify so intrigued if this one would.

Thanks

I wouldn't expect that to be the case.

Thanks for your feed back! It appears that I have to complete a minimum of 4 nights then (instead of the 2 that I had initially thought).

Gotta love these ambiguities!

The language has varied a little from promotion to promotion and no guarantees or anything but 'book and stay' requirements have generally meant you needed to reserve during the promotional period while I got credit for merely 'stay' during last summer's 'Share Forever' promotion on reservations made a few months before the promotion's start.
