Platinum - How Late was Your Late Check Out?

They vary from hotel property to property, day to day, elite or not, subject to availability, Manager's mood...etc etc etc.

When was the latest check out you received at an IHG location?

As a RA, yes. As Plat, no. We were denied for late check-out.

As Plat we got 4pm check-out at CP Changi.

Hotels in HKG - 2pm is like a 'norm', not just IHG, Marriott too.

On a stay at the CP Surfers Paradise, Australia, I was awarded a generous 1pm late checkout "as a valued Platinum member"...

Hi BKK ~ Silom always seems to offer 6pm without even asking ,,,,,,so one suspects asking for later would be a breeze

Good question. My experience is Platinums get 2PM, never later, even if the hotel is 50% vacant. That said, I am grateful for the perk. When requesting, I always reiterate Platinum status. 2PM sharp seems to be the standard (regardless of the standard check-out time) across North America for Platinums. This is based on experiences in recent months at:

HI Select Montreal Downtown
CP Montreal Airport
HI Toronto Downtown
HI Mississauga Toronto West
CP Miami Airport
CP Tampa Westshore
HIX Largo-Clearwater
HI Atlanta Downtown
HI Kingston Waterfront
HIX Kingston

Same here, they're the most accommodating, by far, with late check out requests; there have even been some occasions when they've allowed me to check out at 9pm if they're not desperate for the room. It tends to be around 4pm with most other ICs I stay at and 2pm-ish for CP and HI properties.

If I remember correctly, this is a regular perk of the Club room - which you probably received, as a RA upgrade. (I might confuse it with IC BKK, though)

No, I usually take the Premier room instead of Club access. I have a separate Club arrangement with the hotel. The late check-outs have been granted on a case-by-case basis, although I've never been refused.

Even the basic level of PC is supposed to get you some sort of late check out.

We were offered, without asking, a 6pm check-out in January (because we were British and "all flights back to Europe leave late, so you'll need this").

The lady checking us in assured us that if we wanted to extend this to 7pm or later it wouldn't be a problem, and just to make a request at any time. However, when we asked very early on our day of departure if we could do this it suddenly turned into a problem and we had to gently remind them of the earlier verbal promise, which had the desired effect.

So ... YMMV ... and if 7pm is offered at check-in, take it then!
