Is it good news? Why should we have to wait 4-6 weeks after completing the stays in order to get the points?

Don't see that it matters much as long as the points end up into the account... unless you are only into instant gratification... I got a similar response from CS two days ago and was satisfied... this was the second time I had been on the phone about other issues and I brought that promo up in passing...

It is just Bonus points from IHG not your base stay points. Live with it, it is not new, upto half IHG's non-1-off bonuses only post after some sweep process run monthly or post promo end, you'll get points eventually.

Bonus points are exactly that, a bonus. Whilst points are nice to have and redeem for a free night in future, I never book hotels just for points, chase points and suffer inconvenient stay/location etc.

I won't choose IHG hotel because of bonus points, or base points, I book on convenience, location mainly; then price (somewhat, but not exclusively) in conjunction with any known posts/feedback or a previous stay experience.

Code 5214

does this mean you have to stay at eight brands to get four nights?

no, you can stay at the same hotels if you want. It disregards the hotels and brands you stayed before.

runs September 1 through December 31.

Everyone gets a targeted custom version of this promo, similar to Crack the Case! three years ago.

Please go to the Big Win thread (linked above) to discuss.
Does this mean that the traditional promos (e.g. Anniversary Bonus, Welcome back etc) are now all DEAD?
