Most important points to consider for a valid BRG:
1. The comparison website MUST bill in the same currency as the hotel .
2. The cancellation terms must be equal or better, than the terms by the hotels.
3. The Website needs to provide INSTANT confirmation.
4. The room names should match, but if you can demonstrate, that the room is comparable, it will also work with discrepancies in the name.
5. The price difference has to be more than either USD 1 or 1% (whichever is higher).
5.b In regards to hotels located in australia and New Zealand the price difference must be greater than 3% .
Hotels for which you will get reimbursed:
(Note: There have been significant problems with getting full reimbursements from IHG, especially for reimbursements in other currencies than USD)
IC Istanbul ( BRG claim from the 17.05.2013/ "Technical Difficulties")
IC Frankfurt ( BRG claim from the 20.08.2013/ "Technical Difficulties")

I always book for 2, but it's mostly just me. It won't be an issue. The other way round probably would be.

We enjoyed our back to back BRG comped suites last week @ Palazzo.
IDKW the resort fee was 25USD plus tax for night one and 28USD plus tax for night two.
The coupons for one free cup of coffee each morning were appreciated.
I could list many more shortfalls ... I'll simply say:
Great business model Mr. Adelson. j/k

Submitted a claim for the Intercontinental Tampa and received verification of a valid claim within 6 hours. They are definitely getting faster at processing these.

I found at 30% off rate when booking at least 3 nights at the Sydney Intercontinental for this April. The rates are thus 30% lower than IHG's site. The reservation was found on Venere.com (amongst other sites) and quoted in Australian dollars. I booked a rate that included an upgraded view and included breakfast. The rate is refundable but there was a refundable rate available on IHG.
Since the discount 30%, the rate is lower than any other possible room I could book on IHG (i.e. prepaid, lowest level view and no breakfast). Will this still be rejected since I did not book at the lowest rate possible? Should I just go on Booking.com or some other US site and book the reservation there rather than waiting for IHG to get back to me. I don't want to book a non-refundable rate.
I'll post back when I hear the result. I just filed the claim tonight.
Thanks.
