Had a nightmare booking this today, somehow I managed to book the same room three times, Advance Purchase, I did manage to cancel two of the rooms but it is not showing as cancelled yet.
I could NOT use my BOGO, PC even rang the hotel and they said they have no rooms available, I replied that there were rooms available, but she said not at that rate! I said there are no black out dates with PC. but, would not have it, cannot use certificate
anyone else managed to book using a cert?

They DON'T CARE!
(a) Macao
(b) Convention revenue (remember, this mentions casino revenue... ) Though, the drop in room revenue is interesting.... Also, keep in mind, casino revenue numbers can be skewed by one whale getting 'lucky!' (or, as I say, "whale gone WILD!")
Point in fact!

well, only time will tell, things are heading in the right direction though
and a political decision could change things in Macaou overnight
They have just changed the requirements for Grazie Gold and Platinum. It used to be 30,000 points for Gold and 500,000 for Platinum, now it is 20,000 for Gold and 175,000 for platinum .
However points earnings used to be 1 point per $1 coin in, 1.5x for Gold and 2x for Platinum.
They have changed that, and (no doubt purposely) made it difficult to understand how much you're actually earning

Anyone had any luck combining their AMEX Platinum card hotel program with their Royal Ambassador status for a much better suite?

I've booked weekends at the pallazzo for the next 2 weekends (got a special offer from grazie for 169 for weekends). Luxury booked 6/19-13 and bella booked 18-20.
I'm PC Platinum, what kind of upgrades do you think I'll get?
Also Will I have access to the "club lounge/VIP checkin?" and if yes, where is it?
I know I should really just bite the bullet and get the ambassador, but I haven't really gone to any IC where they have not upgraded me as PC Platinum.
Thanks for all the input.

I posted this in the RA review thread but though I would cross post it here also since there aren't many reviews yet for this hotel.
The Palazzo in Las Vegas
What is your Priority Club status?
Platinum RA
Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
Yes
Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked a standard king room and a standard double room. Got "upgraded" to a room with a view of treasure island on the 35th floor. The room was the normal room with what I guess is considered a strip view, but I have received much better views just booking normally before the hotel was an alliance hotel.
How are the rooms?
The rooms are great. They are very large, with a nice sitting area and a good sized bathroom. The rooms I have gotten at this hotel have always been clean and well appointed.
How is the exec. lounge?
There is a VIP lounge which is where you check in. There is always some cheese and fruit out there as well as coffee and tea. For breakfast there would be some pastries out as well, and some small sandwiches around lunch time. There was also a waiter who would get drinks if you want any.
What was your welcome gift?
Nothing
Did you receive fruit in the room?
Yes, a very nice bowl with a great assortment of fruits including apples, grapes, a kiwi, a small pear and an orange (maybe a couple of other things)
What was good and what was bad?
Good:
-The mini bar! The first night we were there there was a half sized bottle of grey goose, a nice champagne (I forget the name), a red and white wine, a few smalls of liquor, sodas, juices and water. The second night the grey goose was replaced with belvedere and the champagne was a white star imperial, the rest stayed the same.
- Along with the mini bar, the snacks on top were also included as part of the RA benefit. There were cashews, peanut M&M's, sour gummy bears, cookies, chocolates and a few other things.
- The VIP Lounge was very clean and nice, and pretty much empty every time i was in there.
Bad:
- The person who checked me in asked to see my room key about 10 minutes after checking me in when I went back to enter the VIP Lounge. They ask every time if you don't show them though so its not as bad as it sounds, but still seemed odd.
- The upgrade or lack thereof. I would have at least expected to have a good strip view, not just straight into TI.
Would you return?
Yes, no questions asked. Even with the lack of an upgrade, it is still my favorite hotel on the strip, and the nice mini bar makes you forget quickly that the view isn't that great :-)

One thing to note if you are thinking of upgrading to the Prestige level: on the weekends the club lounge can be a zoo. I was there this weekend and literally it was difficult to find a seat between 5-8pm (when open bar is going on). They're seemingly upgrading too many people for the space available.

I've gotten the upgrade 2-3 times as a player (comp suite), so I was curious.

RA upgrade to Prestige?

No we had to pay for the upgrade unfortunately. I tried my best to convince them. We did get 2 level room upgrade though.

Just out of curiosity, what room type did you get upgraded to? Did you book the cheapest prestige suite available?

If that's the case, I find that $100/day (if it's not COMP) often exceeds the (rather minimal brekkie & appetizer) F&B expense, especially if you have free mini-bar and VIP lounge.
Was figuring they had a 'special' discounted upgrade fee.
Like I said before, I never paid for the upgrade, so it was always a 'decent' deal.
