Stayed at the Willard this week. Was disturbed by housekeeping twice in one day, while the DND sign was on the door.
The first woman said, "Sorry, I did not see the sign".
The second said, "I was just checking to see if you had checked out and left the sign up" (??????????)
I complained to the M.O.D., and she said she is very sorry, and will make sure it doesn't happen again. So, she's promising me that it will never happen again to anyone else? Lip service... They should have offered me some compensation. This is a serious offense, imo.

you are kidding, aren't you?
house keeping has the right and the duty to check every guest is doing fine and check if the Do not disturb sign was left outside the door by mistake.
Of course, I expect them to knock at the door before getting into the room and I can't see where the offense is if this was the case.
Sorry mate, but I really can't stand people looking for compensation for every single stupid thing.
Keep complaints for major issues....

I go to hotels for sleep. It's hard to sleep when people keep knocking on the door. I can't think of anything worse.

I agree that to ask for compensation is fairly outrageous, but you have a point to complain mildly. The excuse that housekeeping didn't know whether you had checked out is ridiculous (they have other ways to ascertain this, i.e., asking the front desk), but mistakes happen.
This is why I always deadbolt the door, even with the DND sign on.

I did deadbolt the door. Didn't stop them from waking me up by knocking on the door over and over. I was pretty tired at the meeting, which was the whole point of the trip.

I had an excellent weekend stay and would definitely be back. I really enjoyed the bar and the historic information is really enjoyable to read. My room was extremely nice, and the added touches really make a difference when you just wanna relax and enjoy.

Greetings IC Willard Experts
I am looking for some advice on booking with a BOGOF voucher for a June Weekend.
The Fri is $210+Tax and the Saturday is $161+Tax. Experience tells me that they if I book this pre-paid rate and present the BOGOF at check in they will refund me the $161 night.
Is there a way I can persuade them to give me the $210 night as the free one? Possible book the $210 night as fully flex and the $161 night as prepaid then get them to merge bookings at check in?
Best Flexible is $299/229 so prepaid is a good bit less. It isn't the end of the world if I pay $210+Tax. For the 2 nights it will be a good deal but just fine trying to trim the rate.

I think the general rule is that the BOGO night needs to be on the same reservation (not to say that there isn't an occasion or two that people get away with seperate ones).

Huh? A common technique is to book the first night at Advance Purchase and the second night as Best Flex to avoid having to deal with getting a refund of an amount already charged.
The BOGO night, however, is the SECOND night. That is the real problem with aerotec's proposal.

Fitness center access
So couldn't find in here but is the gym / fitness center free for RAs here? I know it supposed to be but sometimes it can be sketchy when it's in a Spa (as it appears it is here)

Yes, it's free for RA. They also have sauna room inside the fitness center.
Just stayed 2 nights using a BOGO. As a RA they upgraded me to a suite with 2 rooms. Wonderful bed, wonderful service, and a wonderful location. No problems at checkout. Movie, internet, and minibar already removed from the bill at checkout. Loved the historical aspect of the room/hotel and watching the Secret Service protect somebody important coming and going to the hotel. Anybody of any importance stays at the Willard and is protected by the Secret Service. Stay here if you get a chance. Easy walk to museums and memorials. White House right next door. I even saw Obamas feet as he got off his chopper in the front lawn!
I stayed there last weekend. The hotel is great and if they have the room, they will try and give you a room with a view of Washington Monument..... if you ask nicely or try not asking and just sort of mention it before they start giving you room keys. I know you are using miles. I was too the first night. Anyway, I was working and never saw the work out room. But, given you are Ambassador (even though that does not mean as much as it use to mean) you should have no problems doing whatever you want within reason. One of the most helpful persons in the hotel is one of the manager's.... Dwayne Williams. You have an issue with something go to him. If you earned your status and did not buy it or have stayed in Priority Club a ton, presumably you have to get enough points for the Willard, then mention this to whomever you are trying to get something for free from....
