Star Alliance benefits extended to guests?

I'm United Gold/Star Alliance Gold member. I'll be flying on Swiss Air, from the US to Switzerland, with my GF and her kids. I've been checking online for the rules, but haven't found answers to these questions. Hopefully someone here can tell me.

Extra baggage allowance. Swiss allows one extra free bag to Gold members. Does that allowance extend to the people that I'm travelling with? There will be six of us on one reservation.

Similar question about access to the departure lounges...just me, me and one guest, or all 6 of us allowed in the lounge?

TIA,
Tom

Definitely individual. I'm flying A3 with 2 UA *G and the 3rd passenger has no status. He does not get a free checked bag and a seat assignment would cost extra for him on other carriers that charge for seat assignments.

Are you serious? Of course it is ONLY for you. Airlines are not charities...

You might be able to use the priority check in counter together if you're lucky, but that's about it.

6 people together in the lounge based on 1 person having status? Come on now..

I think it depends on the carrier & the benefit. I recently flew UA as non-UA *G & each of my no status family members got 1 free checked bag. Even though their BPs had a different boarding group number, the GA allowed them to board with me.

Really?

Star Alliance rules say:

STAR ALLIANCE GOLD CUSTOMERS TRAVELLING IN ANY CLASS
As a Star Alliance Gold customer, you have access to any member airline lounge that displays the Star Alliance Gold logo. You will need to present your boarding pass for a Star Alliance flight departing from the local airport. If your boarding pass does not carry the Star Alliance Gold indicator, you will need also to show your valid Star Alliance Gold card. You are entitled to a maximum of one guest. If you are a United MileagePlus Star Alliance Gold customer, you may only access the United Clubs within the U.S. when departing from that airport on an international Star Alliance flight.

So he is allowed one guest which may not suit him but is more than him individually.

Status is only good when traveling alone. Maybe with 1 campanion.

Anything beyond that, your status is practically non-existent.
