Best Airline FF - From SFO/SJC

I'm looking for the best airline to pick for FF miles, I live near SJC & SFO. I fly for business once a month to NYC, occasionally to Boston. Currently have the Chase Sapphire Preferred card but I'm looking to get loyal with an airline. JetBlue is great for SJC - JFK direct but their destinations are somewhat limited to use my miles I accrue from work for holiday travel. Leaning towards United because of the # of destinations and ability to transfer from Chase / to Star Alliance.

P.s. I'm new so please lmk if this thread should be somewhere else. Tried searching without great results.

What is your definition of best?
For the business flights is there any restriction on the airline or price points? Many companies have a corporate travel policy.

You do not transfer to Star Alliance.. You transfer to a specific airline that may be a member of the Star Alliance. Airlines have alliance and non alliance partners.

For Chase look here:- http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/chase...?daysprune=100
