JFK -> DEL -> HYD roundtrip - which FF program?

I am flying JFK to DEL to HYD and back again (RT) next month and in January via Air India (Economy, W Q and H fare classes). I am debating whether to use my United MileagePlus FF # or my Aegean Miles&Bonus FF # for the trip. Domestically, I generally fly American, not United, which makes we want to try and obtain Star Alliance status more easily via Aegean. My MileagePlus account is at 0 miles currently, giving me no incentive to start building it with this trip. That said, it looks like United would give me some more value from my trip than Aegean would, considering my Air India tickets and the fare classes I am in.

Thanks - as a relative newbie to this, any advice would be much appreciated!

rtflyer1 welcome to FT

1 trip is will not get many ff miles in any fpp
After this trip what other Star Alliance airlines will you fly?

What are your objectives from a ffp?

USA based airline ffp's tend to be more generous (status benefits/earn/burn/upgrades/award cost/award cash surcharges/expiry) compared to non USA based airline ffp’s (even considering the recent changes).

The airline you fly most or an airline of the country you live is the best ffp for many people.
The airline you fly and the airline ffp you credit those flights to does not need to be the same.
Freq flyer miles are not equal to earn or burn.

Look and ask here
