SFO-BKK SINGAPORE or EVA?

I'm new to this site and have a question for you guys.
My friend and I are buying one way tickets to Bangkok from San Francisco in early November. We are looking into Singapore & EVA Airlines. My friend says Singapore is WAY better and is willing to spend more to be more comfortable on Singapore; however, the difference is $100 and EVA flight is also 4 hours shorter. 19 hrs vs 23 hrs.
I have never flown on these airlines and wanted to know others opinions. Is Singapore worth an extra $100 and 4 hrs more of travel time?
Or any other airlines that you would recommend?
Thank you!!

Welcome to FT!

What fares are you being quoted?

That's not too bad. Other airlines to consider are CX (via HKG) and JL (via HND). I don't know how any of those four compare in terms of Coach class.

Of course, if you and your friend are both credit-worthy, you could easily earn enough miles from credit-card sign-up bonuses to get a (mostly) free one-way award ticket to BKK -- and maybe even in Business Class.

Also, will you have an onward ticket for departing Thailand? If not, you should investigate Thai immigration requirements to make sure that you won't be denied entry into the country.

Would there be a Hello Kitty flight available for your EVA route? If yes, do you like Hello Kitty?

Frankly, for that long a trip, I would try very hard to get an award ticket in Business Class.

depends on the program of course. But UA will charge you 80K miles in business class on either partner.

SQ will charge you 68000 miles (booked online) on SQ metal if you manage to get a "saver" award to clear the waitlist.

If you're going to be in coach, look at the aircraft types, seating configurations (for example, 9 versus 10 across on the 777), and available seats as well as any additional fees that would be required to book desirable seats.

You might want to look at checked bag fees too if you're comparing prices.

55,000 AA miles (on either CX or JL). Check the FT/Citi forum for current sign-up bonuses for the version of the Citi/AA card that waives the first-year annual fee.

I don't think that Citi Thank You points are convertible to AAdvantage miles. You might want to double-check that.

The Citi/AAdvantage credit cards earn AAdvantage miles directly, and usually have substantial sign-up bonuses.

How much EVA premium economy cost?

If the price is around $600, i will take EVA premium economy, as it will be shorter also as SQ will be 1 stop and connecting in SIN, while EVA you only need to do connecting in TPE.
