Advice needed. Getaway from San Francisco for 1 week
Hi everyone,
I'm looking for good deal (not expensive) getaway for next week from San Francisco. Hotel, veggie style could be nice option.
Anyone got an experience or saw some interesting deals? Appreciate your advices!

Try Google.com/flights put in origin airport and look at the map and it will show various airports and their prices
Also keep look at the mileage rum section and see if anything is there from bay area
Also look at the San Francisco page on theflightdeal.Com

Fly or drive? One could easily spend a week in California wine country if you haven't done that. Alternatively, drive along the coast, either north or south, to the USA border, but don't try to do both in one week.
If you're flying, remember that the US$ is currently high, so this might be a good time to explore a foreign destination. Argentina's blue exchange rate makes it a good brgain for anything you pay with local cash, but there is an "entry (reciprocity) fee" of about $150. Similarly, note that China requires an expensive visa.

If you haven't already appreciated the richness that California offers you could put together quite a getaway by driving. Rent a car if you don't own one, and consider:
- Drive south along the Central Coast, appreciating the magnificent views and stopping for some hikes or nature walks. Visit Sam Simeon, San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, Central Coast wine country, etc.
- Drive north up the North Coast, appreciating the magnificent views with the redwoods. Visit Napa/Sonoma wine country while you're passing through.
- Visit the Sierra Nevada: Tahoe, Yosemite, Kings Canyon/Sequoia, etc. Usually this time of year it's snowy at higher elevations but due to the extreme drought this year these areas are accessible early in the year.
- Visit Death Valley and the Owens Valley: Mono Lake, Mt. Whitney Portal, Bristlecone Pine Forest, etc.
- Visit the Cascades: Mt Lassen, Mt Shasta, on up into Oregon. Tons of stuff to do in Oregon, both on the coast and inland.
