immediate turnaround in BOM or DEL

I'm escorting my mother on a trip to India, taking either UA82 to DEL or UA48 to BOM. After arrival, I plan to get right back on the same plane. UA82 is scheduled to depart 2hrs5mn after arriving, while UA48 is on the ground for 2hrs30mn. Is this doable? I'm leaning to Delhi because it is cheaper. Note I absolutely need to go landside to deliver my mother safely to relatives. (I already have a visa).

if the incoming flight is on time then its doable....however, keep in mind that they will close check-in for the outgoing flight an hour before the flight so you will have to cross immigration, collect baggage (if your mother is checking in baggage), leave your mother with your relatives & make it back to the check-in counter in about an hour if you are trying this in del....for this reason alone bom might be a better bet since you get an extra half hour there....

United staff at Delhi are much more efficient and the airport is as well.

However, if more time in Mumbai, then I'm not sure which one I would choose. Debatable.

In Mumbai, the gate is usually very far from immigration. However, just a few days ago we came in (surprisingly) in a very close gate.

Possibly contact the station manager at your chosen airport before flying to see if they can assist?

An option at BOM is this: http://pranaam.csia.in/services/services.jsp#5

That might help your mother move to immigration expeditiously and also organize help with baggage.
