Does India Post office still have Surface mail for India to USA ?
To someone living in India :
I have a couple 25kg boxes at a shop in India that I need sent to the USA (Los Angeles) the cheapest way possible , time is not important ,
Does India Post still ship surface / sea mail to the USA ?
and if you can find a current website what is the price for 25kg (or we could rebox to 20kg or ? if that is the limit)
or is there another way that Indians ship parcels to the USA that I do not know about ?
I tried looking on Google but some of the India post websites are from 2001 !
thanks for your help

The website to use is http://www.indiapost.gov.in/
Sadly the postage calculator is java based, which my browser doesn't support.

what hasn't changed is that 20 kilos is the maximum size of parcel you can ship through India post. http://www.indiapost.gov.in/Parcel.aspx
So unless you can repack those boxes .. you're stuck with something like DHL and postage that'll cost more than you paid for whatever the item is that you want to ship.

The following URL can help you figure out shipping costs
Hi there,
Not sure if you're still looking for shipping cost information from India. I also ran into the same problem with needing Java to view the India Post international shipping costs. But I discovered a workaround. Google brought me the following URL. It originally had South Africa in it. I just replaced it with U.S.A. and the weight with 20000 (for 20 kg) and came up with the amount in the results.
To get just surface rates, delete the "+air+lifted" from the URL. And similarly you can find out for shipping to other other countries.

Hope that helps!
