I'll through out a blind suggestion: Qutub Minar.
If you like your ancients a bit more 'rustic', Tughlaqabad Fort.
Of course, if you're in Mumbai...none of this matters. Need more info please.

i presume u will be landing in delhi.. must visit qutub minar, red fort and india gate.. tughlaqabad fort is cool too and so is humayun's tomb... do visit amritsar for wagah border, golden temple and jalianwala bagh... if u like hill stations then do visit himachal except shimla and certainly kashmir.. taj mahal is a usual suspect.. if u go to mumbai the leopold, marina drive and gateway of india are top most attractions.. whats ur specific interest? these are just my suggestions
