McDonald's to open 100% Vegetarian restaurant in India

Quite remarkable - especially for McDonalds!

Deep fried vegetables and other items do not make for a healthy meal.

Knowing McDonalds, the food will still make you fat and unhealthy.

In a quick 150 years Indian vegetarians have gone from callous hegemony under the world’s leading superpower to having one of the world’s most powerful corporations cater to their beliefs. Progress!
Vegetarians will rue the day they got the eye of Mcdonalds on them, eventually they'll be shackles to mass produced vege-tofu-mcdoubles like the rest of the world.

Do they really think they've scored one for vegetarians or are they not aware that they'll die as quickly as us meat eaters now?!?

Oh foolish Vegetarians, falling into Mcdonald's trap like flies in a spiderweb.

Unhealthy or not, I'd be happy if they'd just make their fries vegetarian. (I can't remember the specifics, but they put some kind of meat product on them in the processing.) Sometimes you just want some nice, salty fries.

Is the current McDonalds fare healthy?
I didn't see anything about deep friend vegetables in the article.

Since this really isn't a travel news story per Welcome to Travel News: What should be posted here & what should be posted elsewhere? I'll move to the appropriate destination forum while keeping a re-direct in Travel News for 30 days so that folks can still find the story from there.

extremely foolish move in my opinion....in any case all the mcdonald's in india have more vegetarian options than non-vegetarian....now, with an all vegetarian outlet you will still get the same crowd that goes to a regular mcdonalds, minus the people who want meat....

So now they open a new concept to make sure no vegetarian sees meat being eaten in his/her sight and that no McNuggets ever touched the oil of their fries?

at the end of the day you never know....but they seem to be pretty careful about this, specially given the large vegetarian population out there....

its a stupid idea, no matter where they open it....a vegetarian outlet will only decrease sales, not increase them....

This announcement from McDonald's comes on the heels of Subway's announcement a few days ago that they would open the first all-vegetarian outlet in Jalandhar. I just had no idea there were so many vegetarian Punjabis. I would have expected these all-vegetarian outlets to be opened in Ahmedabad or Chennai if anywhere.
