New Delhi Hotel, Kailash
 

Any hotel recommendations for New Delhi, East of Kailash or nearby? We will be in town from May 12th through the 26th. Internet access is a requirement.

are you looking for a brand or would any hotel do????also, what price range are you looking at????

Not fussy about a brand...looking to spend less than $150 a night.

you will not get a brand hotel in that area for under $150 a night....for non-branded properties the 2 that come to mind are the vikram hotel at moolchand & shervani at nehru place....both are about a 5 minute drive from kailash colony....

both places are very decent & should be under $150 a night....vikram is owned by a client of mine so i know for a fact that they have done a lot of renovation to the property recently....shervani is owned by a distant relative of mine & its a new hotel so i've seen the property inside out & its very well done....

they are both near metro stations & have a bunch of restaurants & shops within walking distance....

Too late but Bed and Breakfasts are great value and many ate quite nice by western standards.

Thanks for the input and suggestions. We used a mix of points & inexpensive hotels for our 8 nights in Delhi.

We ended up using Hilton Points to stay at the Hilton Garden Inn in Saket/DLF Place New Delhi for most of our stay. We had daily visits in Kailash Colony and the Hilton Garden Inn allowed us to be there within 15-30 minutes depending on the time of day.

The hotel itself is beautiful by American standards. Definitely nicer than any other Hilton Garden Inn, and I'd say it's more inline with a full-service Hilton with the exception that it's a smaller hotel in terms of rooms. A fantastic, complementary breakfast buffet was offered to us as Hilton Gold Elites. The hotel is inter-connected to 3 upscale malls which made shopping and dining very easy. I would recommend not eating in the expensive hotel restaurant, and walking 5 minutes over to the shopping malls where you have many nice dining options for considerably less than the hotel.

Two other properties that we stayed at were:

Indian Luxury Homes (Greater Kailash - M Block) - 3500 INR per night B&B. Clean room, but very simple breakfast (tea, toast, and omelette). Food is brought to your room. Not a good value compared to other options. 2-star property.

Clarks Inn Hotel (Kailash Colony) - just a 5-minute walk to the metro to take you anywhere in Delhi. Modern rooms, but uncomfortable beds (you could feel the coils). Breakfast was good (not great) and is served in a small restaurant, buffet-style. Restaurant is also open for lunch and dinner, but I'd recommend exploring outside the hotel.
