Air India hong kong queries

I plan to travel to hong kong and stay at macao for a couple of days early next month. Its my first time there and need a little help in arranging my plans. From my friends I understand its better to use HK public transport than use taxis.

Arriving via Air India early morning in HK I plan to take the ferry to Macao directly. Can someone please confirm how the same is done- it seems I just need to ask the Air India check in agent to tag the bags to macao. Do I need to book ferry tickets beforehand?

After check in at macao I plan to go back to hong kong for entire days work, at the exhibition center, before returning back for some casino fun. I hope it will not be an issue traveling between these two states (I would be immigrating into Macao in the morning then back to HK and then back to Macao in the evening.)

Next Morning I plan to check out spend day at HK and then leave by Air India flight in the evening. I will be having some checked in luggage for my Istanbul trip right after HK. I see online Air India allows previous day/ same day check in at the city office, can anyone confirm using the same. I would be at the exhibition center the entire day and I do not want to lug my check in luggage, can i pre check in the day I leave or a day early? From google maps it seems I will need to head to Hong Kong station from the ferry terminal to check in before I head to the exhibiton center. Is it walkable or should I take a taxi?

Thank you for your inputs.

Thanks I realised later myself and posted another one in the Hong Kong Macao forum.

Anyone here used the AI city check in at HK city. Just wanted to confirm one can drop bags in the morning for a flight in the evening, i.e. access the city after check in and baggage drop. Not sure if AI has a counter which would be manned full day at HK metro.

HKIA city check-in

Hello OP

I've used City check-in at HKIA with an AI ticket often. No issues at all. AI don't have a person there. The HK Island station has two types of counters: those dedicated for Cathay passengers, and a few multi-airline counters where passengers of non-Cathay airlines can leave their bags.

Just take care that you don't have any over-weight bags. Works like a Charm - even during IRROPS and Cat 4 storms if the flight gets delayed.

Have a good trip.
