Spicejet BKK-CCU route

Thinking of taking this flight in 10 days - but I am getting cold feet in view of all cancellation rumors.

Opinions ?

This may be OK as it is within 10 days. However I would not book Spicejet on any international routes, whenever an airline is facing cash crunch they usually cancel international especially BKK-CCU which has significant competition.

Spicejet's condition worsened when Air Asia India entered the market with ridiculously low fares. Spicejet was forced to match it or even go lower to counter Air Asia India. In my opinion there are too many carriers in India and I am wondering why the DGCA is continuing to issue licenses to many more carriers most of them regional. Air Asia India, is a carrier with a foreign entity being the largest stakeholder. This should not have been allowed.

Great advice. I will stay away from Spicejet and use IndiGo.

My advice to people considering SG for upcoming bookings: Book if your flights are operated by their fleet of Q400 aircraft. The B737 fleet has been reduced to 18 operational birds and may go down further- which potentially puts any route under the axe.

The difference, with Q400 being owned those birds aren't likely to go anywhere, unlike B737 which are leased.

Sorry, have to disagree: the aircraft may be held by other debtors. Plus if you can't pay for fuel and landing fees, owning the aircraft doesn't guarantee their operations.

Avoid SG at all cost. Very unreliable.

Good choice, SpiceJet was a bad airline.
