Drunk Passenger on Air India Flight Tied to Plane Seat

An inebriated passenger aboard an Air India flight from Melbourne to Delhi had to be restrained after he allegedly attempted to bite several passengers and tore some clothing off of two flight attendants. He was tied down into his seat using some ropes and wires. Once the plane arrived at Delhi, he was taken into airport police custody.

Reminds me of that scene from the movie, The Wolf of Wall Street, when Leo had to be tied down to his seat! I guess this was far-less movie-like! Haha..

Wow. I cannot imagine being that wasted on a plane. I always draw the line at about 6 drinks (and an Ambien if it's an overnight).

"Crew of Indian airlines on international flights has to be firm in serving drinks to passengers and ensure that no one gets more than a certain number of drinks. Foreign airlines are very strict. Try asking for a third or fourth drink on any western airline and the crew will firmly warn that you will be reported on arrival if you ask for more. Our hospitality, however, makes our crew more lenient which they should not be," said a pilot.
What the hell is "reported on arrival"?

I was once on a flight where a passenger was extremely loud and abusive. Being a domestic one there was no alcohol however it was clear he had a little bit too much before the flight. No action was taken on landing and that disgusted me too much leeway was given.

Given that the source was ITAR-Tass this is what probably actually happened:

"Hit his girlfriend" = Voted against Putin
"Bit a police officer"= spoke unfavorably about Putin
"Escort to a medical facility"= thrown into trunk and beaten at police station
" Penal colony " = secret underground gulag / Putin's personal playground

I wonder if AI GAs observed him....visibly drunk at boarding are often denied boarding.
