AI flight time change by 30 minutes = ticket re-issue?

So I have a booking for DEL-MAA-CMB with the DEL-MAA on AI 439. It is a paid booking that was made on the Premier miles website.

The flight from DEL was originally scheduled at 0655. It has now been re scheduled for 0730. (which works fine for me and actually makes it a better connection.)

Now I just got a text message from "LMALERTS" telling me:

Trip ID xxxxx your DEL MAA segment (PNR xxxxxx) has been rescheduled to: flight AI 439, 0730. Please call AI for ticket reissue. 1407.

I tried calling AI and have been on hold for a while. After getting disconnected as well! And that is in the First/Exec pax phone queue!

So my question is: is this call really required? I just logged in to AI.com and the booking looks fine. It shows the new flight times and has an eticket number etc. And can I stop wasting my time on the phone!?

Take a look at the eticket if the coupon reflects the correct flight number and date. No need to reconfirm the flight change.

Get a cocktail (or five) whilst your assistant figures it out.

Question:

a. do you have an assistant?
b. do you trust him/her to deal with AI on your crucial private CMB positioning flights

a. Yes
b. Most definitely not!

And you already have enough info about the "crucial and private" parts of the trip!

As long as the e-ticket record reflects the correct flights, dates, and booking class, you're fine.

You can pull up the ETR on saudiairlines.com using manage my booking and e-ticket number if you don't have access to the ETR otherwise.

Interesting. Thanks. I have a 5 digit AI reference and a 6 digit Amadeus ref for checkmytrip. Both show the correct flights and a ticket number (i.e. the original ticket number). Booking class if also correct as J class, and seats are allocated too.

I can't seem to see whether it is mapped correctly though. The flight and date are the same, the only change was the departure time changing from 0655 to 0730...

I could have sworn there was a link somewhere on FT to pull up Amadeus receipts. (Maybe on LAN or Iberia..?) but my memory fails me !

What the booking says (which is what AI/Checkmytrip show) isn't what I'm talking about - you need a valid ticket as well to travel.

The only way to see your e-ticket record status publicly is Saudia's website, because their website designers are incompetent and never restricted the manage my booking function just to Saudia reservations.

Air China is also another option, but you can only see your ETR in Chinese

Which reference do Saudia use? Both the amadeus and the AI reference throw errors...

I really tried finding a 9W option, but flight times were horrid! 0300 at BOM, yikes! Even looked at UL, but decided to try AI!

My return is on 9W though. Still an ungodly 0500 departure CMB-MAA-DEL.

Oh, and I already have back ups in my hand for the day in case the AI option doesn't work!

Why don't you try doing a web check in. If it succeeds then I don't think you have anything to worry about. I am assuming your flight is in the mornin today.

That worked fine and opened the booking. The flight AI 439 still shows the old departure time of 0655. But when I click on the flight number, the pop up shows the new time of 0730! Argh!
