Australian airline staff booking tickets in India

Hi!

Does anyone know how one goes about booking tickets with airlines that do not have interline agreements (and therefore cannot be booked using staff travel sites)?

Am visiting India and trying to explore how best to go about booking for domestic travel within India. Any sites that offer discount tickets for interline staff? If the airlines (such as Spice and Indigo) are not part of interline arrangements, is commercial tickets the only option (given that they are already cheap compared to the others such as 9W and AI)?

Cheers!
SK

Welcome to FT! ^

Sadly you will not find much info on ID travel here as it mainly caters to 'normal' pax.

That said AI is very liberal for ZED, 9W is pretty open too. Why even try listing with LCCs?

I don't think the LCCs give discount to interline staff, considering they don't have any interline agreements.

AI and 9W are probably your best bets - steer clear from IT.

Zed carriers in India are AI, 9W (jet airways) and kingfisher. Unfortunately kingfisher is no longer available as an option for zed. Depending on your airlines agreement, go for air India or jet airways whichever falls in the lower fare category. The longest sector in India would be about 1200 miles. Be sure of the sector and airline on your ticket because don't expect flexibility from the counter staff. And don't forget to list.

If you are sure about the sectors, let me know and can advise you whether going subject to availability is a good idea or no, cause they will not upgrade.

I would book low cost airlines (indiGo is good...). I am not sure which your route would be flying, but many flights are quite packed in India and not that frequent and IIRC on ZED you are after airline's own employees and other airlines' ID75.
