jet is pretty stingy about lounge access for its own members so i doubt you will get lounge access based on your elite status with jet's partners....

Doesn't Jet Airways allow lounge access to economy passengers who are JP members with Silver and above to domestic lounges and Gold and above for international lounges and for all premium passengers without status?
That, I think is quite generous.
Not allowing elites of other airlines, even partner airlines is a matter of negotiation.
Its a cost somebody has to bear.
Personally, I think giving any lounge access to Silver JP members was a mistake. It raised expectations way beyond any airline can sustain.

lounge access to silver members is on full service jet flights only....also, lounge access to gold & plat members is limited to self only....no guest allowed, doesn't matter what your class of travel or elite status....
also, lounge access has been reduced in a number of cities....
isn't lounge access for premium passengers pretty much a norm everywhere outside the us????

i may be mistaken here but i don't remember ever being refused lounge access anywhere in asia, europe or africa whenever i was flying in business or first....status or no status....

Yeah, if there's a lounge available, I have never seen a carrier not provide lounge access to F/C passengers. However, in Star Alliance (and in the other alliances too IIRC), these pax cannot bring guests (unlike status passengers)

that was my whole point....jet does not allow a passenger with even the highest status to bring in a guest to the lounge....
the only carriers that don't provide status-less business or first passengers lounge access are the carriers in the us....

U.S., like India, is a large country.
KLM does not allow guests with Business Class passengers. At one time KLM did not provide shower facilities to business class passengers, but did to Skyteam Elite Plus (Platiums from NW, DL and CO).
Golds from some airlines were Elite Plus too.
Are you talking about acesss for guests of a Business Class passnger, or those of Elites?
In Europe, lounge acess to Gold and above, on domestic flights os probably an incentive to lure people away from trains. Their domestic nerworks are not as large as those of the U.S. or India.
In Japan too, train is a competitor to airlines onany routes.

I expect lounge access outside of USA when flying FC or business class and I'm not aware of exceptions. To me the worst case is the way LH gives all *Golds, even in deep discount coach, the SEN lounge while someone on a full fare business class ticket with no status is sent to an inferior lounge.

LH Gold(Senator) needs 100k miles, while Golds on other members have lower thresholds. Based on miles, an LH Senator has to fly a lot more than even DL/AF-KL Plats. If what you are saying is correct, LH values Senator (Gold) more than a BC passenger, who maybe a one time passenger.
In my opinion, the lowest and mid-tier elites (Senator excluded) should not have free access to lounge. But that's just my opinion.
