Thumbs up Continetal Welcomes Flyi Customers

HOUSTON, Jan. 5 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Continental Airlines (NYSE: CAL - News) has announced that it will accept tickets from passengers who were originally scheduled to fly on Independence Air following that airline's cessation of service, planned for 7 p.m. on JaTravelers holding tickets on Independence Air must call Continental by March 6, 2006 to arrange travel. These customers pay an administrative service fee of $50 one-way and use their Independence Air ticket to travel on a standby basis on Continental and Continental Express flights only.

Ok so continetal plans on following the law, thats nice to hear

Especially nice is the part about paying a little extra ($100 total) and having a confirmed flight providing space is available....makes that trip to the airport a little less stressful/anxiety filled if you're holding a flyi ticket. I'm sure it's also about this moving quickly into a slow time of the year and CO would love to jam their cattlecars full even if it's not going to get them rich

Not sure why you gave this a thumbs up, since CO is only doing what they are legally required to do.
