Can one be enrolled in United and AA Dining Programs?
I was just curious if anyone knows if one can be enrolled in the United Plus Dining program and the AA Advantage Dining program? Would one get points for each program if they go to a restaurant that is eligible? thanks!
Multiple programs ~ yes.
Join as many programs as you have credit-card numbers to spread around & remember which 'belongs' to which
Will a single-pay dine credit to multiple programs? No.
*You 'could' ask to, say.. break-out your bar-tab and pay separately .. or treat your friend with separate checks.. or ...
[edit] Food-for-thought:
> you *must* maintain at least one number to any program;
> you can register multiple numbers to each program;
> you can move (delete/add) a card/number across programs;
> numbers can be any digit-string that passes the 'validity test' ~ including prepaids and 'virtual cards', and can even be expired!

CaveatEmpty posted just before me, so this repeats some of his/her content:
Each credit or debit card can only be enrolled in a single Rewards Network (iDine) program at a time.
For example, if you had a Visa enrolled in the AA program and a MasterCard enrolled in the Delta program, you could ask the server to split the check - half on each card.

A couple more multi-partner issues
If a restaurant has a restriction of "one visit per month" that means one per (airline) partner, not "per person"; same for $600/$1000 spending per month.
You may switch credit cards between airline programs, however, that requires a third "placeholder" card (an ATM debit card is great for this) as the system does not allow one to have zero cards linked at any time; add the placeholder to the "outgoing" account first, remove the target card from that account, and then add it to the other airline program. This is something that tends to catch folks unaware, causing much frustration if not known beforehand.

Thank You!
thanks so much for the response. Do you think it is worth it/advantages to share amongst different programs? Currently i have all of my credit cards tied to the AA Dining program and figured - like airlines- there is an advantage to being consistent with one program. Thank you again
"Advantage" is a connundrum ~ everybody plays the game a bit differently.
I 'manage/advise' accounts for 9 people ~ mixed-&-matched across 3 airlines, 5 hotel chains and 3 car-rentals, with varying levels of status everywhere . In many instances, an occasional poke from iDine keeps an account alive (example UA) when the user's 'real' activity has been elsewhere or limited.
Normally, my dines go to IHG-PC, but if a good promo pops up somewhere, well...
To each his own.

Belonging to more than one program has worked well for me as some partners have run bonuses which for which I can qualify easily (aggregate spending) vs. ones with high minimum tabs ($25 - $50) that are tough as I generally dine solo. The worst aspect has been mistakenly charging the bill to the wrong card, resulting in an "I coulda had a V-8!" moment, complete with forehead gesture. That happens ...

Gotcha - thanks! I just assumed that the promotions were the same across all of the different dining programs - did not realize that one may have a better promotion than another (i just saw idine is offering 20% off first dine when you sign up - so that seems like a reason to put one card there) Is Holiday Inn the only hotel group associated with the rewards program? I just completed my 12th dine so will be interesting to see how many miles i get next year - as a new yorker i eat out all the time!

Priority Club (Holiday Inn, Crowne Plaza, InterContinental) points earned dining count fully towards annual elite hotel status (points earned dining with AA count towards million-miler lifetime status).
Bonus promo offers can vary widely among partners and at different times. At a given time my four dining partners could be offering a choice of: nothing, a crummy "bonus" hardly worthwhile, a decent one based on aggregate spending (usually 60 - 90 day period), and decent one based on a certain number of dines (usually within 60 - 90 days, $15 - $25 minimum). Almost as though Rewards Network were using a Random Bonus Generator!
Edited to add that Hilton HHonors now participate as well

agreed! I have my one favorite, but take advantage of multiple memberships for the bonuses
