pgary, I really don't appreciate that one of the bonuses I just posted here for the first time is already posted on your website. Obviously you have the right to do that if you wish, but I think it is in really poor taste for the self-appointed moderator of this thread to use it so selfishly.

I did not first hear about any bonus you posted here recently. I have my own sources, starting with the iDine websites themselves. I do not understand why you assume otherwise.

I am not a moderator of any kind for this or any other thread. I made a simple reasonable request out of an attempt to save me time reading posts I don't need to read. That request has frequently been igored. Example: your post under current discussion. Sigh. Why would you think anyone besides me reading this thread would be interested in this discussion? I appologize to everyone for having to respond in public. But since this complaint was aired publicly...

I do not see anything "selfish" about my website. I spend very long hours on it for minimal reward, other than the satisfaction of helping people travel, thus promoting intercultural understanding and thus world peace.

So why do you post here? Why do you object to my spreading the word? I certainly don't object to your doing so, though I recognize the possiblilty that many posts on flyertalk come from something read on my website. I think any publicity about miles opportunities is good publicity and meets my goals.

My problem is that you had a bonus posted on your website that you did not share here. That is your perogative. The posts I quoted above, that I classified as being self-appointed moderation, bothered me when you posted them, but I let it slide and didn't say anything. However, now that I discovered you are posting things to your website and not sharing them here, that bothers me.

In the past you have specifically said you didn't have the link to certain offers and I went out and found those links and included them in my summaries because of your requests, I remember doing that specifically after this post last year and just last week with the Midwest sign-up offer. If you're not going to share information here that is not already posted here but is on your website, I think it is selfish for you to be coming here and asking FT members to provide you links for offers so you can put them on your website. Even if you said "I just posted a new Priority Club offer on my website." I wouldn't have a problem with that, but just being silent about it is what bothered me.

Huh? After you found that link, you posted it at post #195. Why should I repeat your efforts?

Cornroaster provides me with all information on the Midwest deals, especially those that you can see only if you are a memeber of the program. (I'm not.) He posted what he had on the lastest one. There was no link to it available at the time. I have it on my list to check again in a few days. Cornroaster always posts here the Midwest deals he knows about either ahead of or simultaneously with any notice he emails to me. I see no reason to duplicate his effort.

With this partucular thread I find that all iDine bonuses eventually get posted here, due to the good efforts of yourself, Cornroster, and others. Even if I post something first on my website, it gets posted here by those of you taking responsibility for this within a few days and before the start of the bonus period. So I wait a few days before seeing if I have to post it. I appreciate those of you who keep up on these offers. They save me the work of posting them here.

I belive in shared labor. So does the army of my readers who feed me most of the offers I post on my website. I have always assumed that you, cornroaster, and others wanted to take the lead in keeping this forum informed of iDine offers, and I appreciate your doing so, so I will not have to. I see no reason to duplicate your efforts.

I know of no iDine bonus on my website that has not appeared here in a timely manner. But if you guys stop posting these deals, I will.

Moderator: The title of this sticky thread is "Please Share iDine Bonuses". When people see a new post here, they expect to read about a new iDine bonus. Their time is wasted reading about this disagreement between Beckles and me. I suggest you remove all posts relating to this disagreement, specificly this post and posts 317,318, 319, and 320. I suggest you do the same for any other future that is not a post of an iDine bonus, suggesting to the poster that he or she start a new thread on the specific bonus. Thanks.

Without weighing in too strongly either way (I can understand both viewpoints), I did find it a bit ironic that your "The title of this thread is..." post followed a couple of posts by NJUPINTHEAIR who is, in fact the OP of this thread.

If you would like to contact JDiver with your suggestions, I recommend that you use the RBP link or PM him as he has his hands full moderating both this and the AA forum. Feel free to add Post #322 to your list. :)

The current Priority Club offer was not posted on this thread before it started, yet it was posted on your website before it was posted on this thread, you have stated you don't see a problem with that. That is your perogative.

There is a "Report a Bad or Misplaced Post" button on the bottom left hand corner of every post, if you think any post is a violation of the TOS you should click that link and report it as such. If you are not sure you should send a Private Message to a Moderator. Publicly posting that you believe someone else's posts should be removed is inappropriate if not a violation of the TOS.
