EDIT UPDATE:
Program is still a shadow of its former self.
I predicted to a friend that there would be a new bonus at the start of the month. I also think that Delta and United and perhaps NW (if the dining program still exists?) will come out with a bonus soon, probably no later than 11/15 but perhaps sooner. It will probably take the form of the above or of the Midwest miles promtion.

Maybe they're experimenting to see how lean they can make the tease and still have us bite. I mean, there isn't even daylight between this and double miles. Why not just make it double miles? (Rhetorical question.)

Ha Ha. Joke's on me. But for others who might wish to try, as I've said elsewhere, you cannot circle a CC back to a mileage program it's ever been enrolled in, even if you hadn't enrolled before, and get a new joining bonus.

Any US Air Dividend Miles New Member Dining Promo?
I have been thinking of joining Dividend Miles Dining? Is there a promo/bonus for joining? I have not seen in the last couple of months, while other airlines/hotel dining programs have some joining bonuses.
I wanted to get a hit for Grandslam promo with Dining as well as have any Dining for Miles joining bonus.

The short answer is "no". I just did what you are going to do. I've watched to see if DM would do it. I finally just accepted that this "backdoor" bonus of 1000 miles from the Grand Slam would be my joining bonus. The sages here can answer your question with a longer term perspective - and prospects - re DM Dining.

Though this says for Online Members, my VIP dining account with 2 dines in 2009 also had this Bonus. My Online status family members with no dines this year had this bonus. Each account did receive an email today with the subject Earn 1,000 bonus miles with one meal. Looks like it cannot be combined with other bonus.

Miles-for-gift cards
BOGO, do you have links? I went to the Mileage Plus Dining site, but don't see the promo. Thank you again.
I would have asked this in an edit, but I do see a M+ promo panel for miles-for-gift cards that might be of interest to watchers. Trouble is, when I click on it as a link, it just sends me to a restaurant search page. Once they fix it, it should be of interest.

I think that gift card link isn't really a bonus miles promo. I think it's just a sort of reminder that you earn miles with any kind of spend at the restaurant, including gift card purchases.
It's like the "earn more miles by picking up the whole tab when you dine out with other people" promo.
