How much are Avios worth?

I got an email from Iberia offering me 4500 avios (3000 for signing up and 1500 for my first flight). How far do I get with these avios concerning status. I will be travelling regularly intra-Europe so the only thing I want with status is lounge access. Since I need gold for that, how much more miles do I need to get gold?

Avios are only useful for redemption tickets. 7500 Avios is not a lot, it corresponds to a one-way intra European flight in Econ IF there is availability which is a big issue most of the time.

Elite Points determine status. A return MAD-LHR/PAR etc for example is 70 Elite Points in econ, 140 in full fare econ and 280 in Business.

For lounge access you need to collect 2250 Elite Points between April and March of the following year OR fly 50 segments.

Hope this helped! Cheers

Was this promotional offer targeted? Any chance you could post a link to this offer? Thanks!

I think it is targeted. I did a flight with Iberia last year so maybe they want to get my business. Also, The page's link is extremely long. Anyway, I do not think I will go for Iberia PLus/oneworld. It is to much work for the status. *G on Aegean seems easier.

Did anyone who recieved this email end up signing up with IB+? Are bonus miles added in automatically? I clicked through and signed up a couple of days ago, but my balance is still showing as 0.

And yes, as far as I can tell it is targeted. T&Cs say that you must signup using the same email address, and that the offer is personal and non-transferable.
