MAN-LHR s a short domestic connection and perhaps it could be free of supplementary charge.
MAN-MAD-TFN in Business ("U") will cost a total of 30000 avios (one way).

I tried pricing up Alicante to Miami via Madrid, and whilst the Iberia Plus taxes were £72 opposed to BA Exec Club’s £184, it would appear that Iberia Plus does not allow for the free domestic connection. BA were charging 50K miles and Iberia 59K.

Is this correct? Or is there no free domestic connection permitted on IB?

There seem to be certain routes that are designated as through routes with a stop that are priced from origin to destination, but I think you only can take advantage if there is availability on that precise route. For example, if you want to fly BCN to ORD, I believe you must connect in MAD. For most, you must use miles for both segments, but one of the BCN to MAD flights is designated as the thru flight and if there is availability, you can book it as a BCN to ORD direct with a stop for the lower miles.

Short-haul reward flight saver includes free domestic leg in mainland Spain, but not to the Canary Islands, so LHR-MAD-SVQ will cost the same as LHR-MAD

But domestic flights (eg MAD-LCG) just cost the same as an international flight, right? Or even an international flight with a connection? I need to do a couple of one ways out of MAD this Summer.

MAD-LCG should cost 4.500
routese like ALC-MAD-LCG or LIS-MAD-LCG should also be 4.500

Before making a booking it's worth checking how much it
will cost to book via BA, I have noticed that sometimes it is cheaper to book shorthaul IB flights via BA, not much difference but there could be a 10 euro fee difference or so.
