Departure lounges
Iberia Premium Lounge Dalí
Located in T4 immediately after security at Level 2, if departing or connecting to Schengen, IB operated London bound flights (A330/A350 excluded) or domestic flights: it is a decent lounge with free food, drinks and showers. Open 06:00 to 23:00.

Related discussion: Iberia Dali Madrid lounge experience

Iberia Premium Lounge Velázquez
Open daily 06:00 to 01:00

Located in T4S (Zone "S") at Level 1 at the edge of the duty free store. Open 24 hours, for departures to non-Schengen and long haul flights; self-serve food, drinks, wine bar (Rincón del vino), restaurant w/ limited hours, targeted to departing intercontinental overnight Iberia flyers.

Lunch buffet 14:00 – 16:30, Dinner 21:00 onwards, Bistro 21:00 - 00:30

When you exit the lounge and make your way to your departure gate, veer left through the duty free store. You can use Starbucks as a visual cue. If you veer right, you will end up in a cul-de-sac.

Arrivals lounge
Sala de Llegadas
Located in the main T4 arrivals hall at level -1. The lounge is equipped with showers and a breakfast room.

This is not a oneworld lounge. Access is provided free of charge to business class passengers who have arrived on an Iberia operated flight of more that 4 hours. Iberia Plus Platinum, Gold, and Singular members may also use the lounge provided they have also arrived on an Iberia operated flight of more than 4 hours. Paid entrance is also available

Lounge hopping
Terminal 4 and 4S are joined by a subterranean train; it is unlikely to lounge hop as the gatekeepers are rather strict about using the appropriate lounge.

Iberia lounges at Madrid Barajas (T4/T4S)

Hi again:

Does anyone know if either of the Iberia lounges at Madrid have showers?
Also, does anyone know what time they close in the evening?

Thanks-
Bill

Note that you can't lounge hop at T4/T4S.

If your flight leaves from T4 you MUST use the T4 lounge and similarly for T4S. Mind you it is a right PITA to get between T4 and T4S so not many would want to try.

So, for an IB flight in Business from Chicago to Madrid, presumably arriving in T4S, we would need to clear immigration upon arrival (but not reclaim luggage, which should be checked through), catch the train to T4 building, where we can relax, shower, etc, and then connect to Lisbon (which should be from T4 since it is Schengen-Schengen). Correct? Thanks!

I was able to use the T4 lounge despite my flight leaving from T4S. I wanted to take a quick shower before visiting the city (had a long layover). The gentlemen there did mention that my flight did not depart from T4, but did not say much more than that.

You were lucky! Normally the T4 lounge guardians won't let you in with a T4S BP.

This is not correct, you are always allowed to use T4 lounge, but T4S lounge is more convenient for T4S departure flights and food selection is MUCH better, breakfast, lunch and dinner buffet with hot food instead of packed sandwiches and salads.

When arriving at T4 and departure from T4S you are able to access T4 lounge as T4 terminal don't segregate arrivals/departures, it's the same airside hall.

T4Sis a different story, normally you can't access departure hall when arriving, but sometimes the door is open and you can get in directly from the plane, I guess this applies to BA operated fligths,...to get out you have of course to go trough passport control...

FYI, there's no free (didn't check for paid) Wi-Fi in the lounge (assuming both, my data is from T4S), but there's free ethernet at the very end of either side if you bring your own cable. A bit of a downer in an otherwise very impressive and pleasant lounge.

Since I asked this earlier and no one could answer me, I'll note it here for others.

There is a free luggage storage room in both the T4 and T4S lounges. While there is no security watching over your bags, it is a nice area to store your bags if you are heading into town during a long layover. I had no problems using it twice recently.

Also, I am quite sure there is paid wifi available.

Iberia Dali Lounge - Madrid Barajas Airport T4

Thought I would do a mini review of the Dali Lounge at Barajas. Previous reviews have given it the impression of having no windows and that the Valazquez Lounge is far superior.

Having used both lounges, yes the Valazquez has a better view, but this one definitely is not a concrete bunker. It is on the top floor of T4 and you can see out to the gates or down into the terminal. I would say that the food on offer at Dali is better than Valazquez (unless you are on a longhaul late night flight from T4S in which case you will get proper dining there).

The lounge is situated right in the centre of T4, so it is actually really easy to find.

When coming from T4S, you will arrive up the escalator or lift and will need to take the lift up another floor (follow the blue signs for Sala VIP)

When connecting from a domestic, or arriving by Iberia into T4 from LHR. You will highly likely arrive at either gates H3/4 or K90something, the furthest points from the lounge! You will need to take the moving walkways up to gate H57 I think, there you will see a shop called Becara and a set of stairs heading upwards, there is a sign but it doesn't really point to the stairs.

Follow the stairs up and around the corner then you will see the lounge entrance

When you walk through the doors, you have the option of heading right or left. There is no F/J section so it all essentially has the same, I have tried to summarise the differences below:

Turning left: Has computer terminals, smoking room, toilets, 5 showers, a long coffee/food bar and wine.

Turning right: Slightly smaller lounge area, "cinema" area (usually showing CNN or NBC), small coffee/food bar, the alcohol bar is just past the toilets on the right (infront of the cinema). Toilets and 3 showes.

taken looking towards the toilets/showers from the lounge on the LHS.

cinema (alcohol bar located behind)

Both food bars have the following, the lounge area to the left tends to be slightly better stocked:
  • Series of boxed up sandwiches, usually curried chicken wraps, chicken wraps, cheese/ham sandwiches.
  • Salads (normally chicken and parmesan or no meat)
  • Beers and wine section (they also have individual sealed bottles of white wine and bubbles which I have used for take-out)
  • Cans of coke, sprite, water
  • Crisps, fresh olives, macademia nuts
  • Haagen Daz icecream! Located next to the coffee machine in the lefthand lounge area (small spoon hidden in the lid)
  • Coffee machine the same as T5/T3 galleries lounges, no option for decaf (spoons knives and forks are hidden in a tray underneath the coffee machines)
  • They also have breakfast cereal from dispensers, jugs of milk and orange juice. I think they put out pastries at breakfast time but never arrive there at that time.

there is no wi-fi unless you fork out dinero

I prefer the Dali lounge as there is less smoke wafting around, and I don't value views of planes very highly. All it really lacks is the buffer food offerings.
