Based upon requests, this is now a wiki - please feel free to edit - but please only post the suite that you are confirmed into and not what you ultimately get (eg PH Vendome books into Park Suite but many ultimately get a Park Executive Suite). I'll start with that one for formatting example - I will try to do refinements to this when I have some time later.

To check the room type you booked into, you may use Hyatt E-Concierge:

Yes it will. As far as I know, it won't work with special rates from sites like Travelzoo, Expedia, etc.

Thanks for the info.

I booked a P+C stay at HR HB for April and called in to apply DSU, which is now confirmed. I may have to cancel that reservation now-- will the DSU just go back into my inventory automatically? Or will I have to make some phone calls?

That particular DSU expires 2/28/16 so if you cancel before that date, it would go back to your account yet still have the use by date of 2/28/16. If you cancel or change the reservation after, that DSU will disappear since it already expired.

DSUs work with any eligible rate, i.e. one that you would earn stay credit on. Therefore, yes corporate rates work.

So the date (Feb 2016, Feb 2017) applies to the date the DSU is applied, not the date of the stay? So the DSU for my stay in April 2016 will come out of the Feb 2016 inventory? When I click on "My Awards", it still shows no deduction in my DSU inventory even though the suite upgrade has been confirmed.

No. The DSU applied depends on the date that you booked. Obviously, you have no 2016 DSUs so only a 2015 DSU would apply in this case. Starting March 1, 2016, then DSUs will be 2016 only.

I think I understand, but I want to make sure.

Hyatt matched me to Diamond a couple weeks ago via the Twitter promo, so I have 4 DSU that expire in Feb 2016, and another 4 that expire in Feb 2017. I confirmed a suite upgrade yesterday for a stay in April 2016. So that upgrade will come out of the DSU inventory expiring Feb 2016, correct? I previously thought that to use DSU expiring Feb 2016, I had to STAY by Feb 2016.

Yes, it should and it should have already come out, but sometimes they forget to take them out right away and sometimes they forget to take them out at all.

I'm lookinf to stay at GH Kauia in January. There's no award or P+C availability and the cheapest remaining room is $600. But when I called GP, the agent said there is suite availability for DSU. I don't want to pay $600/night and since P+C is not available, she can't book me into the suite. I remember reason someone on FT being in a similar situation for another property and was able to get the agent to make it work. What are your experiences with this? Should I just

To be exact it is by 2/29/16.

Multiple rooms and DSU

If there is a party of 5 people (and, requiring two rooms), and there is a Diamond member that has reserved both rooms:
1) can stay credits be earned for both nights? If not? will there at least be redeemable miles for both rooms?
2) can the member apply 2 DSU for their stay (less than 7 days?)

Last edited by AA_EXP09; Dec 28, 2015 at 8:30 pm Reason: as a matched user from SPG, I mistakenly typed SPG's top tier status

This question should be in the general Hyatt thread.
1 - stay credit on only one room for any Hyatt GP member. You get points though on up to 3 rooms.
2 - I assume this is a Diamond member and not platinum. It depends on HGP agent and hotel. Yes the system will let you but YMMV on if whoever you talk to will allow. Some suggest doing it in 2 separate calls.
