Based upon requests, this is now a wiki - please feel free to edit - but please only post the suite that you are confirmed into and not what you ultimately get (eg PH Vendome books into Park Suite but many ultimately get a Park Executive Suite). I'll start with that one for formatting example - I will try to do refinements to this when I have some time later.

To check the room type you booked into, you may use Hyatt E-Concierge:

mdomtask - we've only recently seen you in the Hyatt forum so please allow me to welcome you to the forum.

I have a question for you though, you've listed 9 suite upgrades here and I was wondering how you received so many suite upgrades since this thread is basically for those that are confirmed with the 4 annual (which we first received the first batch back in 4/09) Diamond Suite upgrades - and not those that you get for "free" due to the property's generosity / booked as a suite (either paid or award). If you've included suites that you've gotten via some other method other than the Confirmed Suite Upgrades, please let us know and we'll delete those posts since the purpose of this thread is to list the suites that are confirmed when using the upgrade certs.

Thank you

6. If you are planning on visiting the Monterey Bay aquarium, get the explorer package. For the same price, you get 2 days admission. Children's ticket also available at the front desk. BTW, how do you upload pics? I tried a few things on my mac and can't find an easy way...

FYI Diamond Members get upgrades to suites at the Hyatt Regency Monterey no Diamond Suite upgrade certificate needed. I usually call a few days before arrival to confirm. The bathrooms in these suites are beautiful. P.S. Accista Spa is awesome, the have some wonderful couples rooms, fireplace and all!!!

I tried to use my diamond suite upgrade on an upcoming stay at Hyatt Columbus Capitol before they expire on 2/28. When I called GP, I was told there's no availability.

I looked online and even called the hotel and was told that there are still some vacant suites.

Does anyone know if some hotels limit the usage of diamond suite upgrade or have some sort of quota system?

You didn't leave it there, did you? Did you/Can you book directly with the hotel, and use the electronic certificate?

Hello peteropny, you are correct I misread the topic. The stays that applied to the Diamond Suite Upgrades were the Olive 8, Mission Beach, and Tamaya - Fox Suite. Sorry

That would still fall under "free" suite upgrades - since these certs were only given out in 4/09 and subsequent to Diamonds only. On that subject, I'm not sure that Lifetime Diamonds get many more suites - I know that Courtesy Card holders normally get suites though.

I've corrected this by "deleting" the posts on the other suites since they're basically off-topic for this thread.

It's possible that the suites that are vacant aren't in the category that these certs book into - or it could be that the categorization is wrong in the computer system. I would suggest calling the hotel again and ask if the vacant suites are the "base" ones.

Park Hyatt Washington DC

1. Park Hyatt Washington DC
2. Park Suite Note: IMHO the Hyatt.com pictures do not do the suite justice.
3. 1,060 Sq Ft
4. 1 Bedroom, office/sitting room, large living room, 1 ˝ baths
5. A-
6. Exceptionally nice suite. My wife especially liked it as it has a very residential and comfortable feel. Received a corner suite so lots of light and about as good a view as you can get from this location. The suite was in very good condition. They only negatives were no coat closet near the entry area (you need to make your way all the way into the main bathroom) and windows that open (in other words, they don’t block traffic noise very well). The suite comes with a Nespresso machine and Voss water to fill it (overkill?). Very nice breakfast. Was told that new for 2010 diamonds will not be given a room service option for breakfast .

Hyatt Regency Reston, VA

1. Hyatt Regency Reston, VA
2. Regency Suite
3. Not specified, but bedroom standard size (approx 350 sq ft) and living room about 700 more.
4. 1 Bedroom (attached regular corner room), large 2 bay living room, 2 full standard baths
5. B
6. As a rule suites with a standard connecting bedroom are not my favorite as your bedroom and bath is, well a standard room. However the living room was double sized and fairly nice. Décor is a bit heavy handed and the room is very dark unlike the Park Hyatt DC in my post above. Note that confirmed room was a Conference Suite but I was put in the Regency suite on checking in. The hotel is located in a fairly lively fake downtown that features a skating rink in the winter.

It looks weird.

At check out I was told they get complaints about this everyday, in fact another Diamond who was using his suite upgrade the night before me.. made a huge scene at the front desk and I guess he checked out.
All this over a TV? Seems a little pointless to check out of a hotel because of the TV. I'm using my last cert here mid-Feb. for a one night stay. I have no other stays between now and 2/28 so I might as well burn it.

1. Name and location of hotel = Hyatt Regency Cleveland at The Arcade
2. Suite type = Grand Arcade Deluxe King with a connector room
3. 1200 ish Ft (odd shaped rooms so hard to guess, but large)
4. 1 Bedroom and 1.5 Bathrooms
5. Were you happy with the upgrade? Yes
What grade would you give it = B- or C+
6. misc info.... long report below

I only stayed for one night and was just trying to burn the suite upgrade before March 1. At check in, I specifically asked about internet and breakfast, and was told to charge both to my room and it would be adjusted at check out.

I was originally given a worn Grand Arcade King as my confirmed upgrade, which is an oversized room, but not a suite, in my opinion. I was willing to accept it, and would not have made a fuss, but politely called down to make sure that was considered a suite. It is only $40 difference in price from lowest king room. They said it was the suite upgrade, but after checking with the manager, they called me back and moved me to a suite. (Not the ones shown on website)

The front desk also sent the bell person to deliver my welcome letter, breakfast vouchers, new room keys, and information on the internet that I wasn't given at check in.

The new room they gave me was 315 overlooking the arcade. There was 3 brown leather recliners, a full size brown leather couch, and four slate tables in the connecting room. It had a half bath, sink area with refrigerator, coffee/espresso machine, and also replica blueprints on the wall from the arcade. It was a comfortable room and I liked it. 315 connected to 316, which was a Grand Arcade deluxe king.
http://cleveland.hyatt.com/hyatt/hot...&tabType=photo
This room had a love seat and two ugly chairs circa 1999. The furniture was heavily used, faded, and stained. The TVs in both rooms were OLD 27inch Panasonic. 316 badly needed refreshed, but the bed was comfortable. Standard bathroom. If this had been the room offered it would have been a D, so 315 saved the rating.

The internet signal was crap, it went from weak to no signal several times and no where could I move to make it better (I even tried the hallway overlooking the arcade) The rate is normally charged at $9.99 a night so if I needed to do business, was there for longer period of time, or had I paid, I would have been more upset. I did not try the wired, because I was told only the wireless was free to diamonds. It was correctly debited from the bill.

The bad was there seemed to be a housekeeping issue.....
There was someone's macaroni and cheese with bacon left in the fridge (icky), there was small misc stuff like gum wrappers in the wastebasket, a hairpin left under the bathroom sink and the regular coffee canister was empty, but there was decafe. Nothing bothered me enough to complain, because I can understand how it all happened and everything else seemed spotless in the room.

The best:
At breakfast, I had a wonderful server named Barbara, she was delightful and never let my coffee cup go empty. The pastries were also very good. A+ on breakfast at the 1890 restaurant. She did such an exemplary job that I am going to write the manager with praise. I may even stop in for breakfast when I am not staying here.

Final verdict = I was pleased with the room for the one night and price paid.

The PH Washington has always offered the breakfast if you want through room service. Excellent hotel.

I was told that starting in 2010 they WILL NOT be offering this option anymore. My stay was January 1st of 2010.
