I did. The lounge staff arranged it for us; car, driver and English speaking guide for the day trip, IIRC, it was 2,700,00 VND.

That's quite an inflation since about a year ago.. FWIW, we had 3 people.

Perhaps, you can ask them to include Ba Na Hilis for that price.

currently in my 3rd of a 4 nighter here................was upgraded pre-arrival to an oceanfront regency suite (84SM) - whether that was due to my former Diamond status or former developer/owner is unknown .........basically 2 full regular rooms..........really great place............. Regency Club has it's own pool area............. VIE provided exceptional massages........... pool bar serves up great Pho............ beach may have been renamed due to political reasons but still as pristine as ever..............memories galore as the helicopter pad we would use back in mid/late 60's flying down from Phu Bi/Camp Evans still here about 100M north of the prop.......day trip arranged by the hotel to Hue, but there's now a tunnel that cuts 30/45 minutes off the return in evening..........reconstruction continues on Imperial Citadel post Tet '68......... shorter day trip to Hoi An today - worth a longer visit..........can now freely exchange US$/Dong so exchange a few US$s as now prices listed in Dong (vrs last trip to either Hanoi/Saigon where everything was in US$)......... English widely spoken (along with a few shops where Thai is also)........... enjoyed this prop/suite and area more then Hyatt Sharm Resort (and I helped build the damn place!).......... all in all HIGHLY RECOMMENDED to anyone coming this way or thinking about coming this way........ we'll be back, but hopefully next time under 45-yrs!!!!

BTW, this prop open over a year but only a very few posters - come on fellow travelors, let the rest of the world know about this hotel/area...........

Looking forward to visiting here next year. The hotel is about to get a new GM, so it will be interesting to see how that goes.

Bit of a late post, but stayed at this property for 5 days last April wedged in between visits to Hong Kong and Bali, and loved it. We were just looking for a some relaxation and a little local touring, and it fit the bill fine. We were arriving late into the DaNang airport, so used their limo service which while above market rate, was extremely convenient given some experiences I had read about late night cabs. Travelling with wife and daughter and as a Platinum was upgraded to two pool/ocean view rooms which we found very comfortable and contemporary in design. Prices for drinks and food at restaurants were very reasonable for a Hyatt property. Our favorite was the beach/pool side restaurant that had great Vietnamese specialties and relaxing views across the bay. Breakfast buffets were very good with great selections of traditional and local dishes. Used the hotel shuttle to go the short trip to Hoi An, which not only was a great place to spend part of our days, but was lot's of fun for my wife and daughter getting clothes made. Taxi's back to the hotel were also very affordable. While staff were not as polished and service was slower than is found at many of the other Hyatt properties (has just come from the club level at the Grand Hyatt Hong Kong) we found everyone to be exceptionally friendly and always worked hard to meet our needs. Overall, if one is looking for a relaxing stay at a relatively affordable new property with a great pool and beach, and some great nearby interesting places to visit, I would highly recommend this property.

Thinking about staying here for a few nights next month and/or the Sheraton Nha Trang. Anyone stay at both and can comment which they would prefer and why?

Thanks

well over 400kms from each other.............DaNang has casino/beach and available day drip to Hue and nearby village of Hoi An while NhaTrang has beach and nearby to Cam Rahn, but nothing much as once the US left it became a Russian port-of-call.........the Sheraton a few years old while Hyatt only a year............if I had a choice, and I did late last year, I'd choose Hyatt and DaNang 99 times out of a 100 over the sheraton and Nha trang......

Can anyone who's been here comment on the beach and the overall feeling of this as a beach resort? I'm looking for a unique/different place to take my wife. We'll do touristy stuff in some other places, but would like a relaxing 3-5 day stay somewhere with a beautiful beach and relaxing environment. We went to Bali last summer, so we're looking for something a bit different, somewhere in the region.

Stayed here last November (low season). Practically had the place to myself. It's a beautiful new resort with a great Regency Club (and private pool for the club). Very relaxing, good food, fairly reasonable.

It's close enough to Hoi An (15 minutes by taxi) but there isn't a lot around the hotel in terms of restaurants/nightlife.

Used a suite upgrade - fantastic large suite with great views of the ocean/resort.

Would definitely go back if I was looking for some pure relaxation.

Exactly what I'm looking for. Do you go out on the beach at all? How was the water/cleanliness/etc? We were in Bali, and while everything was beautiful, we weren't really near a beach that we'd just dive into.

The sand was very nice and clean. The ocean was churned up due to the periodic storms - I'd imagine it's nice during the dry season.

was there in December..................sea very clean but not very deep as big shelf................had been here back in the 60s as literally across the road from casino (next door) is the chopper pad we'd land at (still there!) for quick R&R breaks and to trade crossbows for steaks with the Navy........BTW, due to various on-going claims w China over nearby islands the locals have renamed this area from So China Sea to XXXXXX.......
